CFD Gaming is among the first to introduce 10 GB/s SSDs. Their next-gen storage based on NVMe 2.0 spec and equipped with PCIe Gen5 interface will deliver up to 10 GB/s of sequential read speed and up to 9.5 GB/s of sequential write speed. The SSDs are based on “PS5026-E26” made by PHISON ELECTRONICS and incorporate Micron’s 3D TLC NAND flash technology.

Each of the new SSDs features a large heatsink with a tiny fan on top. This ensures that the heat is under control and the storage can offer the speed it was designed for. The company also confirms that their SSDs adopts thermal paste instead of thermal pads. This change may be more common for next-gen PCIe 5.0 storage options.

The PG5NFZ SSD series will be available in three capacity options, each featuring a different size of the built-in DDR4 memory (2GB to 8GB) and offering slightly different speeds. According to CFD Gaming, the 2TB storage will go on sale in November, while the availability of the 1TB and 4TB options has not yet been determined.

Well someone had to be first. I hope other similar OEMs will follow.

I think the consumer market space is in a bizarro world alternate reality in 2022, where everything is McDonalds super sized. Would you like fries with that?
