Will I ever be able to buy another evga gpu at a normal price in any near future, nvidia says not even next year. I'll never spend 3x the price for a gpu as I see every where. Is this the future for any pc gaming enthusiast.

Yes, EVGA has stopped selling GPUs. EVGA has decided that it no longer likes money. [/scarcasm] On the contrary, EVGA (and everyone else) is selling more video cards this generation than they ever have in history. There isn't a lack of video card manufacturing or sales; there is unprecedented demand.

The first part of your answer will be a click bait headline next week. @Chuck H.: There is also a lack of chip availability. Every industry is affected by the chip shortage and it will take time to meet the demand. Unfortunately, the demand will keep increasing and there is just not enough fab production capability. The new expansions and fabs won't be online for 2-3 years. Even with that, they are going to have to continually expand to meet future requirements chips.

That's correct. NVIDIA has sold more GPUs than ever, but still demand exceeds the supply chain. I think it will be at least another year before supplies can balance demand.

If you do not already have an EVGA card please try asking Santa. Word is that the elves are currently the only ones making cards.

The 2x, 3x time prices you are referring to are the norm now. Outside of website queues and going straight to best buy, you are not going to find a card at the launch MSRPs for a long time yet, or unless you get involved with a lucky deal lol.

You have to either be extremely lucky or be willing to settle for an off brand to hit that MSRP these days.

Outside of website queues and going straight to best buy, you are not going to find a card at the launch MSRPs for a long time yet, or unless you get involved with a lucky deal lol. When I saw an EVGA 3070 XC3 for $475, on the back counter - I said: "Ill take that one", but at the time, I honestly thought the price was too high - I mean, it had been pissing me off for years that "midrange" GPUs were no longer under $300 without having to work to find a better than normal deal. I had gotten lucky and found a 1070 for $300 "open box" the first week it launched, and then my next card was the 5700XT for $297. So, $475 was actually kind of offensively high, even though Nvidia had basically pulled a "slight of hand" magic trick w/the prices to trick consumers into thinking that these new 30x0 series cards were "cheap". They did this by wildly jacking up prices year after year, then, slightly rolling them back In hindsight, that $475 price was fantastic, and I wish I had bought more...

In Europe EVGA video cards can be found at retailers, but the pricing is well above MSRP.

Did I ever mention that I needed the card? It's a want as I have not upgraded in 5 years and its starting to show it's age in newer titles. And break what cycle? I don't upgrade every generation anyhow and I'm free to do with my money as I wish

No Of course not dude. They are selling more than ever. It's just the demand is insane because of the miners. And how stupid it is really. I have no 30s series graphics card and a miner has 100 and it's so unfair. They are even buying the lhr ones if they find non lhr ones.

Ofc not. If your are saying this because of the slow cards rollout then that's the case for everywhere. The chips used in the cards are outsourced so it's affecting almost all design houses. Nvidia said the problems gonna persist even throughout 2022. So don't expect anything to change anytime soon.

TSMC already has plans to open a manufacturing factory in Arizona. But that's not gonna be available until probably 2023-2024. Until then the situation isn't gonna change much.

I found my new, sealed 80 Ti FTW3 from a local seller on Craigslist for $1600 cash which is almost same as if I bought from EVGA and paid tax and shipping. Today I was on eBay and saw one for $1699 which is $200 more than MSRP which isn't terrible. eBay prices are definitely being driven down as scalpers are having a harder time offloading cards for absurd markups. When I started looking in like July you couldn't find one for less than $2000. It is still possible to find reasonable prices but you have to be constantly searching.

I guess it also depends on where you stay. Most scalpers don't wanna ship and would only do cash deals. I found some cards on FB marketplace that were at 50% markup but it was slowly coming down during mid July to Early August, but I don't know what changed and the prices started going up again.

More 30 series cards have been produced than any other video card in history. Mining accounts for an estimated 25% of sales. Gamers are consumers. Miners are consumers. There's no reason to categorize or divide people. The real problem is absurd consumer demand.
