This unit has had its price cut dramatically and rightfully so. I purchased this unit back in 12/3/21 for the hefty price $396 expecting a great product because I never had a problem with products from EVGA. Its seems that purchasing one these units is akin to drawing straws meaning you could get a good one or a one that sounds like a cricket. I honestly also believe the power delivery is flawed meaning my computer would crash without any overclocks while being stress tested. I have since purchased a new unit from EVGA and all my problems have gone away. No more crashing even overclocked and no whining cricket. EVGA you should pull these units instead of trying to sell them on the cheap. All you have to do is read the reviews on Amazon and Newegg to see that there is problem. If I had not bought custom sleeved cables I most likely would gone elsewhere. Why am I just now bringing this up? Well I don't get much time to fool with my PC hobby so there was little time for diagnosis and little time for swaps. I honestly believed for while that I had the loudest graphics card I have ever purchased. It wasn't until I did a few sound location test that I was able to pinpoint the CRICKET from Hell.

My wifes 1300 P+ has been working fine. No odd clicking noise and no crashes. I had originally bought the PSU for me but realized my case has the PSU more of in the bottom center and uses a short PSU cable to go to the back of the case. Since the 1300 P+ doesn't use the standard barn shaped PSU cable on the back it didn't work with my current case. That has been the only problem I have had with it and that problem was me not looking at the product pictures close enough and very few people would have a case like the Be quiet case I have.

You must be a younger guy, like 26 or under. As you get older you lose the ability to hear high pitched sounds like this.

Define older. I've no problem hearing high pitches at all. I'm not arguing that in some, that occurs, but it is not really an argument against PWM or coil whine. In fact, after my first Covid jab, my sensitivity to high frequencies actually increased. It was almost like tinnitus. I found this out for certain when I was using my LED flashlight which I sometimes hold with my teeth when needing both hands. Prior to the jab, I'd heard nothing. After the jab, I can now clearly hear the LED power IC as a faint squealing.

I believe you, I just got a 1600 PP on sale and its very loud as well. Its not a matter of pitch, merely a 140mm fan at 100%, there is nothing special about it at all. There are two operating conditions: ECO on: Fan off for 5-7 minutes, fan on @ 100% for 1-2m. Repeat indefinitely ECO off: Fan @ 100% constantly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aZ3wjTBVpg Eco mode operation at system idle 0:00 - 1:25 fan @ 100% 1:25 - end of clip, fan 0% The fan ramping up to 100% wakes me up in the middle of the night from across the house. I opened a ticket. I expect the fan curve to find the most quiet fan RPM based on operating temps. That's why fan curves exist. Hopefully i just got a bad one, though it looks great. Nice cables, good looking unit. Just super loud. By comparison, my 1000w EVGA PSU made no noise at all, ever, with Eco off.
