HELP! I did the bios update suggested here on the site after my hybrid conversion of an EVGA 3090 FTW3 (24G-P5-3987-KR). Now the fan on the card itself is no longer spinning, and more importantly, I can no longer launch Precision X1 without a firmware update notification / reboot loop. With 100 degree days here in KC, knowing I have control over the fans is a welcome feature. But now I can't even use the EVGA software provided. What happened? SCREENSHOT: Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you in advance! (yep, I searched)

Do you have fast boot enabled in the BIOS? Do you have CSM enabled in the BIOS?

I can confirm that as instructed, both Fast Boot and CSM were fully disabled in the BIOS and continue to be.

Was the stock BIOS on the GPU or did you flash another BIOS prior to installing the Hybrid?

Have you tried looking through GPUz to see if you have the right bios installed and what happens when you open Afterburner, will AB spin your fans manually?

Factory fresh, out of the box a few weeks. (I appreciate the help you're providing!)

Nothing wrong with the fan on the face of the card; it does kick on under load (I assume it's stuck on AUTO in PX1) Really hoping to avoid needing to install Afterburner by getting the EVGA tool to run again without a reboot loop. I ran the NORMAL bios pinned in the thread that exactly matched my part number. However, I can get you a GPUz shot...

Did a full uninstall via add/remove programs, installed 1.3, and I think some other version that I saw recommended in random threads. All triggered the same alert window, that when closed or OK'd does a hard reboot of the system, only to prompt me again when I launch PX1.

Have you tried setting the PCIe slot from PCIe 4.0 to PCIe 3.0 in the BIOS? Do you have rebar enabled in the BIOS?

I was thinking of more like a 1.2x but that is just weird, I don't know why you don't want AB , I use it for everything and it is much more stable than PX1 imho , sorry I have not been more help.

Hmmmmm actually.... NO to all of the above. Safe to engage? PCIe going from 4-3, then back again after this is sorted? I wish I was knowledgable to say that I knew in full how Rebar works, I don't but the bios build says it has rebar support, is that enabled on my MB bios?

Reporting back, set PCIe slot to gen3 in bios, rebooted, tried to launch PX1, same message popped up and imminent reboot. Enabled REBAR with latest MB Bios updated, same msg / reboot from PX1

Yes, it is perfectly safe to change your PCIe slot speed. I have no idea if you have it enabled in your BIOS. You'd have to check in your BIOS to see if it is enabled or not.

Not really on the subject of your thread, but it looks like you're running your GPU in a x4 slot instead of a x16 or at least a x8 slot? Just curious here.

Hmmmm, that's a good observation. Top slot on a Asus Maximus Hero XI (Wifi) I thought was the fastest slot? Could it be the adaptor to vertical mount?

I'm not familiar with your board or it's BIOS, but I believe the top (16X) slot should be a x16 or x8 slot with two GPU's. It's possible your vertical mount adapter is causing that issue. You might try reseating it.

GPU-Z will dynamically change on the Bus Interface listing to show the current bus use\width. If his graphics card was not under load or a light load when he took that screen shot, it would only be showing the bus interface at that current time. It does not necessarily mean his card is running at x4 3.0 all the time, just at the moment he took the screen shot. Put the card under load and look at it again to see if it is showing x16 3.0.

I've never seen that. The x16 or whatever always shows but when idle it'll show 1.1. Then under load it goes to either 3.0 or now 4.0. The lane speed is always constant in my experience. I'm looking at mine now and that's the case. Unless somehow it's different on a non HEDT board which is all I've used the past 10 years or so.

This is correct. The info after the @ will show how many lanes are being used in the slot and is constant. The rev will change depending upon load. Mine drops from x16 3.0 2.0 then 1.1 a few seconds after starting GPU-Z

Sorry about getting off track in your thread omgedson. Just thought you may want to investigate why you're running at X4 instead of X16 or at least X8.
