Just as an update here, be careful doing this guys. I killed my card, have another 1080 Ti from back when so I'm not completely screwed, but had to order a 1660 super at the current stupid prices to replace it.
I put an H80i V2 on the G12, as well as replacing the original NZXT fan with a Noctua 92mm, as I have seen numerous people do on youtube. Everything installed pretty easily once I got the copper heat plate off from around the die and the vapor chamber off from under where the original aux shroud fan is. Couldn't reuse the original backplate but that was expected. Booted, got some strange hitches, temps looked great. Then hit it with Heaven to turn up the power draw and the artifacting went crazy, restarted the system and it didn't recognize properly in HWinfo anymore, think I melted something, maybe cracked the die from overtorquing the bracket, don't really know.
I'll be posting a parts 1080 Ti SC2 Hybrid on ebay here soon with the original cooler if anyone wants to try a crack at repairing it further, but this thing has given me so much headache over the last month I don't think I can bare to deal with it anymore. Like I said guys, be careful with your hardware, especially in today's market.
