Wasnt sure where to put this but anyhoo...

While playing games, mainly Battlefield Bad Company 2 (the only graphic heavy game I play atm) the screen will black out from time to time. Sometimes completely black, sometimes player names will show up, comm points, crosshairs, etc. Sometimes it is just a stutter on/off, sometimes it stays black for several seconds. Updated drivers are in place for card and mobo. It is a GTX 275 I have had since 2009. Not sure if it is the card or the power supply which is a PC Power and Cooling 750 I have had since about 2008.

Anyway to verify which component it is? I have verified it is not a monitor issue.

Sounds like the cable is either not secure in the video card or in the back of your display.  If it were a driver issue a message would pop up in the bottom right saying driver failed.  If it is not the cable then I would try reinstalling the game or something.  I have a GTX275 and played that game without it blacking out on me.  Another way of testing the issue is by playing another game.  If it only happens in BF2 then it is def the game and nothing else.  BTW, your cat is awesome.

Cables are all good. Even reseated the card. Wonder if it is an issue with steam. BF:BC2 is the only game I can play without steam locking up. Everything is stuck at updating or what not.

Reinstall Steam.  You really need to give another game that is as demanding on your system as BF:BC2 to narrow down what is causing the problem.
