Is there a limit to how many LED's can be controlled using PX1 connected to the argb port on the side of a 3080 ftw3?  I have the Lian Li Strimer plus cables (ATX plus the triple 8-pin power cables for the 3080), and I've having some trouble controlling them via other means.  I don't want to use MSI dragon center because that software is a disaster, and I can't get the cables to do what I want them to do using the buttons on the control box.

To be more specific: I was able to create rainbow wave effect going from one end of the cable to the other with the older double-8-pin version of those cables, but I can't seem to get it to work now (with the triple 8-pin version), and because there are so many LED's in those cables, I am hesitant to even plug it into the 3080 (they do have their own SATA powered control box incidentally, though).  I think there' s a total of 262 LED's in the cables combined.

Has anyone tried controlling the strimer plus cables with PX1?  Any suggestions?

    hello Ciddharthas,
Unfortunately we don't have much on how many LEDs can be controlled by the card however the led headers are rated for 1amps so they can handle 1amps worth of leds, however the LED section on the card is meant for the hybrid kit more than external LED strips.

Ciddharthas, did you try this and did it work properly? Does the Lian Li hub control the card or the card controls the hub?

    My build:
    MSI Prestige X570 Creation
    AMD 5950X
    32GB DDR4 2400 MHz (still waiting for 2 x 32 GB 3600MHz I ordered)

    <.....>

Yes, there is a limit in X1 for how many LEDs that can be controlled. It is max 60 LEDs.
Ref my posts in this thread:
"EVGA GeForce RTX 30 Series » 3080 FTW3 aRGB header device limit?"
(I am not allowed to put in links, as I am a newbie at this forum)

I don't use the same LED strips as you, but I guess any standard ARGB 5v strips should work the same, but with a limit to 60.
Since there is a limit, I guess you can just plug it in to test. Not more than 60 will light up anyway.
Unless it is possible to split the signal, ref my last question in the other thread.

Good info. I was going to pick up a set of the new strimers. Maybe i'll go for the old version cause of the reduced number of leds.

I am currently running the strimer plus 24-pin motherboard power cable as well as the 3x8-pin gpu power cable beautifully with it attached to my 3080 ftw3 ultra.  It's a bit finicky, and I had to play around with it a lot to get it to work the way I wanted, but it seems to work for me at least.  Not sure if it would in all use cases, though.  I pretty much just have it set to rainbow wave.

If the card output is digital, then you can use the input on the control box and then viola! I think LOL, I have the same lian-li triple and 24 pin and did connect it to the mb digital port but wasn't happy with the options so am using the in built random race type run, I've not got a 30xx card as of yet and as the gpu I currently have is 2x8 pin I've not got the triple actually connected to anything lol
