just go to a physical reseller and ask if they can get you a GPU for an acceptable price ;)

Use this affiliate code to have a discount on your EVGA purchase : EV0TVV8XP9

    Config :
GPU - EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra Gaming (Non-LHR version aka KR)
    CPU - Ryzen 5600X
    RAM - 2x8 GB 3600MHz CL16
    CPU Cooler - Noctua DH15S
    Case - Fractal Define R5
    PSU - Corsair RM1000X (1000W)

I would suggest getting in ye 'ol queue, and buckle up for some waiting. Don't just go for one GPU, go for multiple of your preferred type, some SKU-s move more than others (some none at all). The FTW3 variants seem to move a bit more, but still slowly. I haven't been in the queue for long, just a few months at this point, well it is long but it's relatively short compared to how much others have been there (some of them since November or so). Otherwise check retailers, use price comparison websites if available in your region to see who's got it cheapest and start making a small list of retailers, see how each of 'em are doing and maybe check stock in the morning while you have your coffee or such. I myself have found multiple stores I never knew about this way, some of them have interesting prices, bellow market average, although still over what I intend to spend. Some stores do both b2b and b2c and those usually have the smaller prices afaik since they're a few steps closer to the distributor, or they might be a distributor themselves, the fewer middlemen the smaller the markup, if a product changes too many hands it gets marked up by each one until it's not worth it anymore.

At this point in time your suggestion is the equivalent of "look on the sidewalk for pennies if you need money" xD

If you're referring to drops like how AMD tends to sometimes do them on Thursdays and Best Buy...well, whenever they get stock, I don't believe EVGA has done a GPU drop in a long time, at least not since this whole GPU/silicon shortage issue. I've attended most SKU queue launches for the 3070/3080 variants and that's the closest thing to a drop there is--that and whenever they receive stock for queue notifications. You might be able to purchase them on the day of an SKU launch if you're lucky enough to be one of the first ones on the queue list...but that's about it (Anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of those accounts). The only way to purchase a card from EVGA directly right now is via their notification queues and waiting.

Dude, I literally went to this LDLC physical store in France because I just wanted to visit it. I asked them if they had GPUs for a good price and I got a 3080 FTW3 Ultra for 1080€ Tax included...

I would say there is zero point in signing up for any queue now unless they introduce any new ones. There are literally tens of thousands of users ahead of anyone who would queue up now.
