thought i would add a thumbs up even though it took me awhile to warm up to my purchase of a 2080ti ftw 3 hc it is a great card i purchase 1 on the Wednesday sale after saving up even though after the fact the 3080 came out(so to speak) i do not regret it and wish i could find most post about it i moved up from a 1080ti reference and it was a good purchase

I agree. For months I'd be trying to get a 30 series card before running across someone local selling a RTX 2080 Super. I bought it and I'm sure glad I did. I've been nothing but impressed with it's performance. Its even still under warranty with EVGA (not sure if that actually covers me or not since I bought it 2nd hand). I had my mind set on the latest thing but got similar if not more performance than the 3060/3070s I'd be trying so hard to get a better price.

If you have the mighty Tu102-350-K1-A1 orsay an RTX 2080 Ti keep it man, then again even AMD's RX 6800 beats it easily even those are not available either so hanging on to a RTX 2080 Ti yea I'd do that exact same, it's still 28 to 32% faster than a 1080 Ti heck even a 1080 Ti is still a nice card even for today.
if I had a 2080 Ti BarsWF CUDA x64 would be funs for sure these do around 47850 MD5 hashes per sec and that compared to Ampere they destroy Ampere when it comes to MD5 Hashing.
So hey still an amazing card to have if you payed over 1200 USD for one think on that as well right :)
RTX 2080 Ti's were steeply over priced for the performance diff compared to the 700 USD 1080 Ti, not worth selling since what you get for one now would only be considered as loss.
Personally I think an RTX 2080 Ti can really last an other 3 a 4 years I'd ride it out and see what then the market offers instead and hey I am still using my Sapphire Nitro+ RX vega 64 all because Ican't find anything better to what I can afford so it's been with me for 4 years and I wont mind it it takes an other 4 years for me to get something decent.
