Hi all. Just upgraded to a 3070 ti from my 2070 super. Problem is that any game that had dlss enabled with Ray tracing i can no longer play. I got one to work by defaulting the settings but now I can not turn it back on.
I am also using a 1080p monitor
Any ideas what might be going on.

Have you tried doing a complete ddu driver removal in safe mode and then reinstall?

It is there but grayed out. I can not even start doom eternal. Just hangs on start screen

Could be because you’re using a 1080p display. Just a thought. I know Battlefield V won’t let certain cards enable DLSS.

hmm like obsure mentioned some compaines set there games up like BFV where for some reason they block higher tier cards using dlss at lower resoultions. but something is def off if doom eternal wont even launch. If you have only done the clean install option in the driver install software and not DDU in safe mode its worth a try using DDU.

After a fresh install of doom eternal I have dls and ray tracing going. Shadow of a tomb raider still no dlss. Might be good reason to get a 2k monitor

Ya I think tomb raider is similar to bfv that high end cards at 1080p won't get dlss. In my opinion idk why they do that. But I guess they just assume higher end cards won't need dlss at 1080p but still is a dumb idea to block settings. I currently use a 1440p high rez mintor my self so I guess I unknowingly dodged this

keep us updated if getting higher res monitor solves this....
have you tried upscaling to dsr 4k then tried to turn on dlss ?
did that help/work ?

No I have not tried an thing else yet. And yes will keep everyone updated on how things go. Ordered new monitor yesterday. But with covid might be a week before I get it

New update. New monitor is running now. 1440p and still do not have dlss. This is starting to do my head in. Might have to go back to my 2070 super

There might be a workaround for Bf5 at least. Try this: open geforce experience, go to details, custom settings, and then slide the performance to 1 point before the maximum, and you should see DLSS on! Credit for that goes to user Luis Antunes1 on the nvidia forums. Edit: So apparently this is a limitation with DLSS 1.0. Only at 4k you can directly use any RTX gpu for DLSS. But the geforce experience workaround above should work for any card. I don't have BF5 installed right now, otherwise I could check it for you on my pc.

There must have been some files/drivers that were still being default from the previous installation. Have seen this happen even with software that my company makes. Again not certain but it is possible.

Have you gotten DLSS to work in BFV? If so, what did you do?
I upgraded my GPU and Monitor to use DLSS and REFLEX in BF 2042.

I just tried this, and it worked! Kudos to you, thanks!!! Ugh, nevermind. It said it was enabled in Geforce Experience, but in-game it was off, greyed out, and unable to set it to ON. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

From my understanding it's because the more data that DLSS has the better a job it does so on a 1080p monitor it's like trying to convert a VHS movie to Blu-Ray picture quality while DLSS on a 4K monitor is like trying to convert a 1080p Blu-Ray to 4K picture quality. One just has the pixels to really make a good looking final image that has been upscaled while the other lacks the pixels so it really is doing the best it can but it's going to be more noticeable.
