It has been almost a month since the last tiny drop. Are they saving for 3080S? Anyone managed to snag a EVGA 3080 of any kind?

you can check the latest post by enewt in this topic https://forums.evga.com/EVGA-Queue-Summary-m3334520-p168.aspxthere it shows what queue timestamp was most recently sent out, and times in bold show progress (new cards sent out) since the last post. I'm not clear on when shipments are made to places like newegg and amazon and such, but they have been sending out cards from at least there own system, including the 3080s recently. As far as saving for the 3080 supers, I don't think that's likely, even going by rumors new cards won't appear til January, even assuming that rumor is true, and I don't know that they'd use the same chip that could have otherwise been used in a 3080.

I believe resisters and capacitors are in short supply which is another reason for GPU shortages.

You can think of it, through Nvidia economic eyes. What makes more sense if yiealds are good enough from Samsung, with the current state of the market? To sell 3080s or 3080 TIs? Also depending on where you live, 3080s can be had from other manufacturers. At obscene prices but they are available.
System: 7820X - MSI X299 Carbon AC - G.Skill 32Gb TridentZ 3200 - EVGA 1080 Ti - 500 Gb Samsung 970 EVO , 2Tb Crucial MX500, 2Tb, 3Tb, 4Tb Seagate - Seasonic 1000W Prime - Creative Sound Blaster Z - Windows 10 Pro 64 - Phanteks Enthoo Primo - Edifier S530D - Acer Predator XB271HU (1440p) Watercooling loop: Heatkiller CPU - EK 1080 Ti - Swiftech MCP 655 with EK X-Top v2 - XSPC reservoir - Alphacool 480 x2

The 3080 FTW3 queue is currently at 10/5/20 ~11PM, which is the day they started the queue system, so you would expect it to take while to get through that day and the week after as word got out to the various online forums and news outlets. All the people called prior to that were just signing up for the normal notify when in stock system, so I doubt it was nearly as popular to sign up for as the queues.

people who signed up for notify before the queue system were still added to the queue, check the time for the 3080 xc3 black, that's still on 9.16.2020 I was someone who didn't hit notify me before then, as in past launches the e-mail never got there in time before it was sold out, so didn't see a point, but people did get in the queue before the queue was first started, retroactively. (luckily I was able to get in on a later launch of another model that appeared after the queue system started, and could get a card then by getting in really early) But I still agree with your point, there are queues that have very little or even not at all (check the ones with the 00:00:00 timestamp, those haven't been sent out at all) while other have made decent progress, so a big factor is also which model you signed up for as well.

That is what I said in my post. You could not sign up for a queue before 10/5/20 because the system did not exist yet, only the notify system did.

I've noticed this too. thought it was just me. idk. looking at older gpus tho second hand prices r going down a lot. 1070s are back to their MSRP from 2016 lol. they might release a 3080s, but honestly i dont see why they would. still being sold out this long after release is absurd. i dont really see a reason for it. any guesses as to why they might release a super version?

i expect the super to be more expensive again! like $899-999, using the rejected of rejected dies that cant make 3090 and 3080ti phase out the 3080, which to jensen, was too cheap! gamers need to unite and shove it up nvidia and dirty aib butts. Let the miners have their day

They will assuredly have a higher price. And will likely phase out the 3080 and 3090 due to their MSRPs being "too low". I don't see a lot to look forward to.
