I'm using LastPass. I don't know why you would want to switch.

They took away the free tier. I'll likely just start to pay for it, but I was wondering about good alternatives.

KeePass is good.
But I am too lazy. I tend to save passwords in the browser. I know. It may not be the safest option. But it's most convenient.

LastPass is pretty effective, not to disregard online alternatives but paper and pencil is always a decent option.

I use Lastpass and have been happy with it. I've always paid for it though so I didn't screwed over when they redid their pricing model. I use Keeper at work and like that, not sure on the cost though.

No, not even close. One is encrypted with something only you know and has an excellent track record, and the other is a piece of paper that anyone can read that needs to be within physical reach whenever you need it.

In my last job we used 1password and it worked amazing. IMO it has a simple UI and very understandable and, best of all, it's cheap.

We use 1Password at work. I've tried dashlane and lastpass at home, and find 1P to be far superior in almost every way.
The UI is clearer and cleaner to me, and the organisation of groups (called vaults) is great. When it comes to collaboration and shared management 1Password really is the better option IMHO. It's easy to invite new users, grant permissions to specific vaults etc.
The array of templates available when you create a new password is also great. We have to store all kinds of different types of information, from simple notes and username/password combos to more lengthy server access details, and it makes it super easy to organise that content without having to customise anything.
Browser extensions are also great. They recently updated it so it shares a lock state with the desktop app, and if you're on a Mac it still integrates nicely with touch ID to make regular logins super quick.

We use KeePass at work. The benefit of that is your DB password isn't very easy to "hack" as a databreach of LastPass could open up a can of worms unlike KeePass. Even if you stored the DB on something like Dropbox or Google Drive, if those were breached, the hacker would still need to know the DB password. There are some good apps for iOS I use for KeePass that does a sync to Dropbox/Google Drive.

Lastpass played me like a fiddle. Got me in with the free stuff and great software, then they removed the free tier  It's good enough that I decided to keep using it and pay though, super easy to use and the cross-platform abilities work flawlessly. I've heard switching to other software is easy enough but I'm comfortable with what I have

Get Bitwarden!! I migrated from Lastpass to Bitwarden and have not regretted since. It supports Windows Hello face recognition to unlock your vault so no need to type in your password!!

KeePass is free and simple to use. I like the idea of locking the DB in a separate cloud account with 2FA.

You can memorize 100 different strong passwords, some of which you only use once per year? I sure can't. These are what my passwords look like, and every one is different: UIH&@mHtVOQfw96U

I promise you with 100% certainty that no one will ever be able to hack into your paper card.

I'm a huge fan of Bitwarden! It was easy to import all my passwords from LastPass when I first switched over. I managed to get my family using it too as their first password manager.
In particular, I think Bitwarden's browser plugin is much better than LastPass.
When LastPass changed their free tier, I recommended it to many friends and those who switched seemed to prefer Bitwarden.
