Hi, I know this kind of issue has been posted before. Believe, ive read the last 20 threads on this today. CPU i7 5820k - has been re seated RAM 4 x 4gb Kingston hyper x - have been re seated Today i bought a GPU msi radeon rx580 and felt it was time to upgrade for a less power hungry gpu, coming from a evga rtx 970 oc. But the system became angry at me and wont boot. Its just that annoying D6 code. What ive tried: - re seating cpu and ram - re seating BOTH gpus and changing lanes, and changing power cords. Even tried a new one i had laying around. - checked the hdmi cable and monitor, and tested both on a different system. Im out of ideas and feel a mixture of anger and depression. Please, help.

D6 indicates no graphics output. Shut off your PC and turn off/unplug the power supply, then clear CMOS and try again..Also, have you updated to the latest motherboard BIOS?..You should be using Version 2.08 if you are not.

So i did try something different. The closest PCIe port to the CPU did work with the old GPU, but then i got a B2 and B7 error. Re seated the RAM and then there was the B7 error. Removed 2 out of 4 sticks of RAM and now ir kinda works. But only when the GPU is on the closest port to the CPU. Will clearing the cmos affect an existing RAID 0 i have? If not, im all for trying that.

No, not at all..However, in some cases the boot order may be changed and you can just simply check on/change that in the BIOS -> Boot section so that your RAID array drive is the first boot device.

Will clear CMOS today and let you know if anything changes. But since you're the expert, any idea why only one PCIe port works? I know this mobo has all kinds of issues, like the 4 RAM ports right of the CPU are dead. The only workaround i have in mind is buying a PCIe extension so i can use the GPU card in the only slot that seems to work... But it makes no sense that 3 out of 4 dont work.

It doesn't even work right with the GTX 970 in the PCIe X16_1 (top) slot?
I would be inclined to disable all other PCIe slots not in use with the switches above PCIe X16_1..Try the other BIOS and see if it works (slide the BIOS switch under the 24-pin power connector and restart your PC)..Reseat the CPU.
Hopefully the motherboard hasn't failed in some way..You could take it to a PC repair shop for testing.

Minor update. I cleared the CMOS and everything stayed the same. Switched the PCIe, nothing. Tried with the 2nd BIOS, nothing. I think this is EVGA being EVGA again. Tested both cards in all slots. GTX works in first PCIe slot. RX doesnt in any. Will check later if card is dead or what. My only solution atm is to buy a PCIe extender so i can place the GTX in the first slot and not be in the way of the new CPU cooler. Will update later if this worked or not.

Final update. Seems like the only operational PCIe slot is the closest to the CPU, or slot 1. All others are dead. What did the trick was a CableMod vertical extender so im able to use the 1st slot and a large cpu cooler. For me this is the last straw, this board has been nothing but issues. Starting with the 4 dead RAM slots right of the CPU since launch. And EVGA's attempt at forgetting it ever happened and launching the FTW k edition instead. Thanks for the help.

Double check and make sure the BIOS is updated. If the BIOs is updated and the issue still occurs then it is the GPU as you've suggested.

Yeah got a 3080ti and worked no problem. Seems a lot of people have this error if they have AN LG CX or GX OLED
