Hello   today 12.07.2021 I did recive a msg from DHL that i need to pay duty/ tax 830 PLN which is about (182,55 EUR  at the time i write this) Can u help me out ? I thought everything was paid by both sides  as states on commercial invoice Duty been Paid right ? they did asks me for invoice and bank bill and they now wants 830- PLN = 183 euro. -  I had to reject this pickup Can someone help me?

Sounds like you imported the GPU, shipper (EVGA?) listed the real value on the paperwork (insurance reasons) and now you got hit with VAT.  Not a lot you can do about it other than pay it.  I have never seen a shipper pay for VAT, it's always the one receiving.  There are ways around it like listing the value lower to the point customs don't bother with VAT (usually around $15-$20 USD with most EU countries), but that can bite you in the ass.  Here in the USA, I think the limit is around $2000-$2500 before customs start collecting taxes.

EVGA will likely have to refund you then on VAT charges and then you will have to pay customs after.  Honesty, they should not charge VAT and just let customs take care of it on their end.  I hear about this happening from time to time so it's not uncommon, just a pain to deal with.

you always pay import tax, I am in Canada, EVGA shipping always requires import tax by UPS. they only charge you tax if you in the US, check your invoice in the completed order, to see they charge you any tax. also, discount code didn't help you to dodge tax either, tax will be base on the listed price before the discount.

EU EVGA pays the import/custom duty fee for the buyer, due to the fact that they no longer hold an EU warehouse, this is common and always was that way, since they've started shipping out of Taiwan. Unless of course they made policy changes recently. We only get to pay tax (VAT), which is pre-charged on checkout.

Here, up to 150€ you only pay the % VAT according to which country/state you live in (with the new regulations currently in place, this is either charged during checkout, like EVGA and Amazon.co.uk/com does OR when you receive your product). If the product's total cost is more that 150€ then you pay VAT + an extra custom/import fee. My guess is this is what DHL is charging the op for.

20 minutes before you ever commented in this thread, the OP had already stated that they have already paid VAT. Please read through the thread before going off of the first post. There are more details as you scroll through, and had already answered your question.

 EU EVGA charge us VAT too, on checkout. But yeah, I see what you're sayin' now. 

I have already forwarded this to EVGA EU. If you paid the VAT already for your order then you should not be hit with VAT charges.

I already sent complain  to DHL that i dont accept such thing and waiting to hear back from them if they persisst only u (EVGA) can help as as shipper

No we're not saying that, we were just asking for more info to help you bud. A lot of folks use freight forwarding companies/friends and family members in the US to get cards from the US site. It seems like DHL is charging you VAT again, mistakenly obviously, and not for import/custom fees. They are asking for what you already paid for. Send them your total invoice which clearly shows that you already paid VAT and contact evga support.

Strange thing happened Today - I did receive another message from DHL about Delivery I replied to them again and Told them that I'm in Contact with EVGA  and then magically whole duty/tax charged disappeared and 2 hours ago  I got parcel in my hands!


Did I get any Apology from DHL? Nope .. They just thought I'm "bad guy here"  that didn't pay Tax they put on the list regardless of everything I told them they stopped ignoring me after I told them i'm in contact with shipper and it won't go so easy...

This is not my first parcel but This is first time I did  experience such thing  I was so nervous for straight 2 days not about 183 euro but about DHL pushing me so hard and ignoring facts  and sayin that they can send it back to Taiwan
