If your seller was the original owner and if they are willing to assist you in RMA should it ever need it you can do that. It would strictly be an agreement between you and the seller though. EVGA would not be able to assist or intervene if he decides to not to down the road as EVGA only honors extended warranties to the original purchaser. That also means you should not register the card as your own if you want to do that. This is technically against EVGA's warranty policies so do it at your own risk.
There is no other way to warranty the card. If this was such a big deal to you, you should have asked and knew what you were getting into before you probably overpaid for a 5 year old card.
