I've been having a random issue for a few weeks where the computer will not post after being off for an extended period of time. Once the computer is running, it runs perfect. It normally takes shutting it off by holding the power button and then turning it back on to make it boot, but yesterday the issue seemed to escalate some. I tried to boot it and nothing would work until finally I cycled the power switch on the rear of the computer and that seemed to fix it. Than another issue arose that had happened once before which is the system gave a warning once posted that the CPU settings had changed and need to be reset. Oddly enough the settings were the same both times so I simply saved them. Finally I decided to reset the BIOS settings and hope that would fix it the next time it is shut down, but any other ideas would be helpful.

If you mean it won't reboot after an extended period of hibernation, it's probably related to the infamous "sleep" issue that these boards seem to have (although I have no first hand experience with this since I don't use hibernation). On the other hand, if you mean that it won't boot after extended periods of time being actually turned off but is otherwise perfectly stable, it's almost certainly a power supply issue. I seem to have read about some users having an issue with your type of psu but others on here can shed more light on that than me.

Sadly I've already replaced the power supply one time due to it completely dieing in a lovely permanent shut down.

The issue appears at random with either a hibernate or shutdown and once it is on, it runs flawlessly. The issue is a little mind boggling and I am running out of ideas. It's to the point of I'd like to know if it would cause damage and I'll just put up with it for now.

I have the identical problem... trying to figure it out, still unsuccessfully. The system is rock solid otherwise....
