Or the second way around is muting email address in your email service. You can still receive emails quietly.

I just changed my settings as well.
You'll have to do the above to unsubscribe automatically to new posts, but you'll also have to delete all the threads that you were auto-subbed prior to Settings change.
Under Control Panel > Subscriptions > Subscribed Threads > Select all threads, then delete. Hope this helps all

Another good feature, if you do want a notification, is that you CAN subscribe to individual threads or forums to get specific updates, while not being subscribed to every thread you post in.
