I'm sure most of you know how to and that you should, but its a nice reminder to take some time and clean up your builds. Especially in this time of shortages taking some time to clean up and maintain your PC will help it last longer.

You are totally right. In fact, I usually do it every 3 months.

Good idea, esp if you have pets! Use a vacuum instead of canned air.........that way you actually get rid of the dirt/fuzz/dustbunnies instead of scattering it everywhere lol

Usually I do once a month, but my new Cooler Master H500 is a bit annoying, wish I considered that when buying. My previous Corsair I could just press the front panel and side panel off.

Positive air pressure and filters make all the difference in the world. Aside from that, you can counter-intuitively set up your case for a turbulent air profile. Laminar will get you the absolute best cooling performance in air-cooled systems, but turbulent flow will prevent dust from easily building in the nooks and crannies of your hardware. Also remember that if you're using radiators with fans in a push config, to take them off and give your fins a good dusting/air blasting!

The air compressor is really worth it. I've got a friend with one too and can't imagine cleaning any other way. Canned air works alright but you really have to baby the can. I also recommend giving the file system a once over. I'm sure everybody has unused programs that could be uninstalled.

What are the steps you guys go through when cleaning? Like do you do a general blow out of dust then go to work with little brushes?
I wouldn't mind reading what people do for some ideas.

Haven't had to really clean my case more than once every two years, aside from sliding out the mesh filters and vacuuming them 2-3 times a year, advantage of this nice silverstone case, will never go back to cases that don't/can't have mesh filters tbh.
