How is EVGA the only company to setup a queue for 30 series?

It's been almost 10 months now since the first 3080 cards sold, and somehow only EVGA has thought to make a queue for customers?? Honestly, it boggles my mind. These other AIBs are selling the same amount of cards, just straight to miners and scalpers. Meanwhile EVGA, while they cannot confirm the buyer's motives, limit a household to 1 card, and allow a queue.

EVGA's the only company to do this still and is going to reap the rewards as soon as the shortage ends. Once the market goes back to regular gamers buying and scalping isn't effective, there will be a lot of new life-long fans of EVGA, myself included, that won't even bother touching other AIB cards.

Don't even have an EVGA card myself atm, but I know I'll get one soon, and with minimal effort. Anyone else in the same boat?

Yes. My country's Nvidia rep isn't helpful too. They post videos and information on the cards but keep mum on availability and pricing.

Not sure it'll be minimal effort, I'd wager that they don't really care as long as they keep making bank roll, a certain amount of respect should be owed to the very demographic that built their business rather than a deep pocketed fling

Because there's no reason to create a queue, as long as their stock is moving they're fine.

I don't think many companies want to actually deal with the headache of selling direct to customers, opting to go the retail route instead. And like someone mentioned before, for those that do actually sell direct, as long as it flies off the shelves (which it does), why deal with the hassle of keeping a queue? Props to EVGA for going through the work.

Because for most retailers and the like, it's lots of extra work for gains that are not worthwhile to them. Keeping queues in check is accounting and more costumer support and whatnot, when AIBs and the like would prefer if retailers handled all that and retailers mostly don't care. And I can't blame the retailers because they can request all the cards they want but who knows when they'll get it. There are lots of retailers in various countries telling how they ordered thousands of cards and got less than a hundred in total. Supply is constrained.

Also, queue systems can be messed with. It's not harder for miners and scalpers to put themselves into a queue on multiple accounts than it is for a regular person.

It's mostly the retailers that are at fault for the lack of bot protection , or queue systems ,..etc...
They have mostly done next to nothing this entire time to help real people get a card....

i believe so. in newegg, you gotta get lucky, in zotac  and best buy, you gotta fight for it. i miss the days of getting a 1080ti for $350ish.

Well, EVGA is customer oriented, looking to improve and raise the standards in the markets.
All these companies have a lot to learn one from another, but at the end of the day, it's more around the board of director's objectives rather than what customers think.
And yes, a video card costing more than $500 doesn't make any sense. It's the same as other popular tech right now, like phones, laptops, TVs, smartwatches, etc.

not to defend these prices, but different tech costs different money to make. you also gotta consider cost of taxes, customer service, warranty, etc.
