Not much you can do unless you read all 100 plus posts to see if they are spam or irrelevant. This is a EVGA thing about only needing 100 posts to qualify. I honestly don't agree with the 100 post requirement, but it's not my call. Maybe back in the day when cards were easy to get and there wasn't as much people wanting to get a hold of these cards for reselling purposes. I'm not saying the individual you are calling out is doing that for the purpose of reselling cause they could be doing it because they are desperate for a new card. I actually looked as this guys profile and his last posts. He didn't post anything in his last 6 pages of posts I could see about reselling or scalping so to me he is just taking advantage for a rule that EVGA itself has in place to qualify for the status. EVGA could have put a post count limit per day of say 10 or whatever, but even increasing the post count would just make accounts like this increase their activity to get their elite status. Is it sus, maybe...but if I was in his shoes and really wanted a chance to get in line early for the card I would probably be doing the same thing that person has been doing. Looking for topics you can post on to raise your post count. The only concern I have is the title since we have no proof that these people are doing this for scalping. If you have proof, then post it so everyone can see then we know for sure it is what the title says. There are tons of posts here that you know they are just trying to raise their post counts. I'm good with calling out those who do it in a day, but to say they are doing it to scalp without any information provided just doesn't seem right. I qualified the old fashioned way....I bought their GPUs and other things from EVGA and contributed to the forum.

To be honest not sure what this achieves. Sure theres people out there wanting to get their post count up, and if they have the time, good for them. The forum does use an anti spam system so to a certain extent you really can't spam. Gotspeed_2000 I didn't read that person's posts so unless they posted they are here to buy a card to scalp the card I would say the thread title is very misleading.
I think he is trying to call out people who have made 100 posts in 24 hours or less.

Yes it's called abuse. Someone does have to manually or auto manually spam a number of posts on the forum. Or they hire someone to do it on Fiverrr. Then they take those cultivated accounts and put them a bot system. No normal user sits there making 100 posts in the span of a couple hours. They might register and then try to make a bunch of posts over the next week or two, get involved in some discussions. Not make a bunch of BS comments. I've been posting on the internet for a long time and can spot a shill/fake at a distance.

I will try to reach the 100 post treshold to have the chance to buy a 3080ti because i'm trying to get a gpu since when my 980ti died in september but this doesn't make me a scalper, i'm a pc gamer since i was 15. It's wrong to assume that every one who will try to get to 100 post in the next days is a scalper.

I agree, but this is what EVGA has set themselves up for. It should either be a combination of time/posts like 1 year and 100 posts or bought a gpu, motherboard, or something significant which was registered (over a $500 dollar minimum). I feel what the OP and King is saying cause now these new people who might not have bought anything from EVGA or contributed in any fashion to the group are the same ones I'm trying to beat out getting in line for the same things we all want. Even guys like cyber who have accounts that are 10 plus years who you know were here before for the right reason are those that should qualify. It doesn't matter that he just broke 100 posts, he was here long before there was a gpu shortage and he more than likely bought more than a few items from EVGA over the course of those 10 years. My thing is companies should be promoting brand loyalty and ensuring return customers are treated better. Return customers who support the companies should have better access especially in these times. When we go out to eat and stuff, I always make sure to take care of those who take care of us or do business with since i was once in their shoes and know how hard the job can be. But it is also to help them remember me when we come back so they take good care of me and my group. I'm not rich, but understand the importance of relationships and developing them so that both sides can have a positive takeaway from the interaction. This 100 post requirement is a joke...but so is watching their podcasts to qualify for elite as well. I'd honestly like to see another tier where you actually have to either have time in the forum like 1 year or bought over 1k of registered products from them to get into. This tier should have access earlier to the products then the current "elite" status. "Elite" just isn't really much of anything now that people are flooding the forum with posts to get their counts up to qualify.

I'm also trying to get to the 100 post limit to try to get a 3080 ti. I have been watching evga stream on twitch for a bit also, and am trying to accumulate points on there. I have also been buying evga graphics cards (and other products) since 2005, when I did my first computer build. I understand trying to call people out for posting a ton in a short period of time, but what is someone like me supposed to do? I've been a long time customer of evga and don't really care to post a ton on the forums tbh, but have to post 100 to get an elite membership.

No issues with buying your way bro... I did the same thing though with less time than you. But isn't that part of what "Elite" was for? I could have 1 post or 10k posts, I still bought my way in the hard way by getting their GPUs. I would say motherboards should qualify and maybe even power supplies over 1,000 watts. Have you been registering your EVGA products? You should already have Elite status without a single forum post if your stuff is registered on your account...

Yeah buddy, if you could just make your post worth reading and try to spread them out over a week or two, I think we would appreciate it. They haven't announced the 3080 Ti or any sort of cutoff for elite status.

See, I get this guy and feel what he is saying. Maybe I'm a stupid, but here is a guy who is upfront and doesn't have the post count. He has the years, damn he registered for his account 10 plus years ago. If you could have foreseen a need to have an account 10 plus years ago to get elite status now so you could buy a 30 series card I would have loved to meet you back then. we could have invested in bitcoin and made tons of money off the markets and sports betting. Sometimes i buy stuff and don't register them. I know i should but I don't always. Heck, even my Asus Dark Hero X570 I recently bought i haven't registered yet. Not even sure I'm going to at this point either to be honest. If you can register your older items then the earlier posts are correct about getting to elite status. And yes, even if you bought and registered EVGA items you would qualify but need to sign up for "Elite" to get to that level. It's not automatic. He could be spamming the system with useless info, but I can read into his struggle. This is why accounts over 1 year or 5 years should have the option of being elite to me. They signed up for something way back when which to me is better than a guy who recently sign up and is milking the system to get 100 posts. I would have no issue for guys like this if they beat me to the line in the queue. Good luck in raising your useful post counts and your opportunity to get into the queue early bro. Much respect to you for coming out and sharing this side of the issue. Common EVGA, real brand loyalty should be worth something...

If it was a new PSU, it should have ten year warranty and there is no limit on when you can register it, just need the original purchase info etc. Not sure if it is recent enough to qualify for elite.

We are not talking about people who registered anywhere between a week ago and 20 years ago. We are talking about BRAND NEW ACCOUNTS which register and make 100 posts in the first 24 hours. As they say on the net - lurk moar.

On another note, I had my eyes set on the Asus Strix 3080 and this queue brought me over and I am now planning on getting an EVGA 3080/ti. They've gained a customer. I've had evga gpu's years ago and this brought me back. Some will exploit the system, but broaden your vision. This will help their brand more than hurt it.

Re: Callout of newusers with 100 Posts in under 24 Hours for Elite status and 3080 Ti Scal

I have to admit I spent some time a few months ago hitting up General Discussion threads designed to build post counts. I didn't realize it at the time but my EVGA purchases had already qualified me for Elite status. I wanted Elite to get the chance to purchase and get some of those Elite deals (Z20 and X17). So I do feel for those who genuinely have been trying to get a card for personal use and feel like getting Elite status is their next best hope. Having this program on the DL would have been nice in a sense, but articles like the one in PC Gamer ( EVGA's Elite membership could be your best bet to bag an RTX 3080 Ti in the first 24 hours | PC Gamer) are directing traffic here.

To be fair though how do you qualify what I'd spam and what I'd someone posting quite frequently to reach the target.
I dare say that it does mean that the initial release will therfore be restricted to active members be that through the forum or purchases or twitch. It bodes well for those who are desperately trying to get a card in these tough times.

I wont reach 100 posts any time soon, but I don't think it should be an exclusive thing. I think the cards should be offered to the que of the 3090 and 3080 users. Do you want this instead, yes no. Move the que along so that others have a shot at getting a card.
The que doesn't differentiate between business or personal. The que knows all. The que is life. The que smiles upon us and gives us a time to purchase. Side note: Its a good thing the que isn't like fight club....

Honestly then why does the thread title mention scalping? If you have proof this guy is going to scalp the card then please post it and I will change or remove my posts. We don't know what this guy is trying to do, but to say he is scalping might not be factual. Is it sus that he has that many posts in 24 hours... absolutely. But to post the title and say "Call out of newusers with 100 plus posts in under 24 hours and 3080TI scalping" without any proof of their intent to scalp is what I don't agree with. You have your opinion on the issue and bring to light individuals who are doing this to milk the system, but without proof them using this loop hole in EVGA's qualification for elite status to scalp cards is the issue. I'm all for having a call out for EVGA to look at their posts and to ensure it's not spam just to raise their counts, but the problem is really that the post count is so low anyone can do it and still be within the rules of EVGA's forum rules.

I am trying to actually respond to posts and get involved to achieve the 100 posts. Definitely not spamming

I genuinely don't think this thread brings anything to the table in terms of helping to stop spam threads other than actually itself becoming like a spam thread about other spam threads or said scalpers/scalping.
Think on this one the mods should step in.
