i was afraid to lose my only card after seeing tons of failing card here on this forum and today some weird symptoms happenned to me and i think they are the signs of a faulty card but i wanted to ask here anyway.

First  2 mins after booting my pc both screen went black and didnt come back than until i restart pc.
then after 5 mins rebooting both screen first frozen and then went black but this time they came back it happened 2 more time freeze>black screen>back. I wonder if anybody whose card died experiences those signs

Play a game or two and see if you get any errors? Did you do a clean install of the drivers?

Having RMAd my first 3080 within a month of purchase I can't say you are wrong however I would like to point to some facts:
    1. My GPU was faulty from the get go meaning the signs something is wrong were there FROM THE FIRST POWER ON.
    2. Some games may stress a faulty card but it doesn't mean they are responsible. For instance my 3080 was not pulling the correct watts from the start. Was black screening from the start. Was fan revving up/down from the start. Replacement card works like a horse over a month now. 30 days doesn't matter if you play 2 hours a day. We should account for playing 5-8 hours a day non stop and see the card behavior.

I have HWINFO and GPUZ running in the background monitoring the whole time. The comparison with my first (faulty) GPU is SHOCKING. And heres the funny thing: The first GPU was passing Furmark/Superposition/3Dmark with flying colors. Ofc fans sound like helicopter taking off but still..

    Is my 3080 goner?

If you have to ask, the answer is usually 'yes'.

If the card can't play a game without dying, what is the purpose of owning the video card?  That's no way to use a video card which you paid a lot of money for.

LMAO !! This made me laugh ... who has the courage to play LoL or GTA V?

These are the two benchmarks that matter for the FTW3 cards.

The real question is why wouldn’t we have the confidence to play these games with a global setting without fear of bricking the card.

I do want to thank you for your posts though - I immediately adopted your process after reading it earlier.

I do agree that I should be able unbox a video card, install it, and forget about it, and expect it to work perfectly. I have done this with every nvidia card I have owned since the GTS250.  But, until an official statement is made about the FTW3 issues we are all talking about, we only have speculation and loose correlation.

I've crashed my 3080 at least several dozen times running unstable overclocks in RDR2. At 4K and over 400w.
