Was able to get my hands on a FTW3U 3090, waiting for supporting parts to arrive before starting the build. Using a an asus formula Z490 and 10900K with a Corsair 1000W. 2 360 ek rads and ek block for cpu and GPU with a D5 pump. Is there any benefit rhyme or reason to try to use the Hydro copper 3090 FTW3U bios with the card? I’ll stress it like mad on air to make sure it works first but for the sake so stability and power draw (I know there’s a lot of hubbub around EVGAs load balancing) to have a successful 500w bios, without risking my PCIe slot catching fire (lol) what might be the best approach/option ?

one of my 3090FTWUG died on me last Sunday after using it for 5 months out of no where, it was on Hybrid kit so it was super annoying to take it off again, so just make sure you run all kinds of tests before you modify the card

Sorry to hear about your card, but if it pooped that long after you installed the kit I can’t help but feel like it’s not an issue related to dismantling/water cooling the card

And just for the record, I’m perfectly fine with putting a block on the card. But I have absolutely no need, want or desire to modify the pcb in any way. Just hoping I can waterblock my FTW3U, get a 500w bios up and rolling with a mild OC and not have fan controls show up in X1 lol
