They did a great job, though I wish their OC benchmarks were done on the 450w 2100mhz bios, not the stock one.
Still was much better to watch than GN's cooler review.

Yes, that is how you do a GPU review.

But then they usually do a very good job, better than most.

While I enjoyed Hardware Unboxed's review, I'm not sure how anyone can sit there with a straight face and be critical of GN for not going over FPS charts while at the same time praise HU, when in the review he literally said that FPS charts are a waste of time between different AIB 3080's because there is a negligible difference. Since OC results are within a margin of error of each other and are largely dependent on the silicon lottery, he explicitly said they should be taken with a grain of salt.

    BUT,

They actually did a hardware review and showed the results anyway.

Because it's a....... GAMING card so they showed...... You guessed it..... Gaming results.....

No matter what they are, they showed them to validate what they were saying.

Not sure what that GN thing was, but it wasn't a hardware review, defiantly not a graphics card review of any sort.

Your point is interesting, because all people here and on other forums are talking about is the difference between cooling and noise performance between the different AIB's. No one is discussing the 1-3% difference in FPS between a FTW3 and a TUF, because they are negligible; however, you can be damn sure people are discussing the differences in temperatures and noise. Take a look around these forums and all you see are people complaining about temperatures compared to cheaper alternatives. Literally no one is discussing performance differences, because frankly, they do not exist. I'd say that's what reviews should be focused on, then.

    Get real.

Sure they are if you read the forums, differences in performance, overclocking, scores etc.

    It's all part of it.
