For the past 40 years I've been a professional singer-songwriter-guitarist, a part-time recording engineer and recently a pretty serious Red Dead Redemption II gamer

I began to experience a very irritating but minor static buzz while gaming with a Realtek AL898L on-board audio chip in my Alienware R7 computer and tried every possible electrical component solution short of a new audio card to no avail. What a blessing that turned out to be!

I began researching the many possible internal PCI audio cards and external DAC digital converters but ultimately I was so impressed by the NU audiophile reviews that I just had to order one and couldn't be happier.

Without getting technical in my product evaluation I'd like to refer to my favorite description of a good PC gaming experience - immersion. That term should also include a crystal clear audio signal and a lifelike sound stage as well as a pair of high quality monitors. The difference is so dramatic I'd like to recommend the affordable EVGA NU audio card to any gamer who thinks they have an OK audio system...it's that good!

    I agree.
It never ceases to amaze me how discrete audio cards can be so much better than onboard sound. It's always been that way through the years. Then something like the NU Audio cards come by on the discrete market and simply blow you away even more!

I ordered a Nu Audio card on sale from B-Stock that's arriving today. Bought a new set of headphones a couple of weeks ago, and while my on-board audio ran them fine, I'd been considering an audio card or external dac. When I saw this card on sale for $70 couple of days ago, I really couldn't resist at that point. lol

    Hi Douglas,

I have to agree, I have my problems with the Nahimic software not playing nice with Battlefield 5, but besides that can still fully recommend this card, the difference over onboard sound is amazing, music has never sounded this good

When it works it is great, I am quite happy with mine despite some technical issues.
