So the first time I’ve seen Amazon get this card in AT ALL was literally the middle of the night last night. I received an email at around 12:30am Mountain time (2:30 eastern) that they got stock. Of course, I didn’t see this email until this morning. This means that bots were probably the only ones who got any since bots don’t sleep. Pretty infuriating. I’m grateful EVGA is actually trying to make sure that cards get into the hands of people who will actually use them.

It's more while the 3080 is a big deal to you...to amazon it's just 1 of a million plus products. They aren't going to hire special staff and make special rules for a single item whose issue will pass in a month or two.

Given that MSI was recently caught scalping their own cards on ebay, I wouldn't put it past whoever is dropping them on amazon at this point either. Edit: incidentally, the link I got in email was for the "EVGA store" on amazon. I'm not sure if that means that EVGA themselves were the ones responsible for this, or if what they call the "EVGA store" on amazon includes amazon itself and/or third party sellers.

I wouldn't hold trust that the stock was from EVGA directly, unless EVGA_JacobF were to say that stock was sent to Amazon. About the bots being away at 1230am.. not everyone sleeps at the same time. There are humans that work nights, and also stay up at night.

I was awake during that time when the "stock" on amazon went up. I never saw anything other than the price and a button to view "available buying options" or whatever. I never even got a notification from amazon though. Apparently some people claimed to have gotten cards on the Nvidia discord, but no one really knows if it really was a drop.

Not a single thing on the EVGA store is sold by EVGA. It is just a link option that combines EVGA products, and links marketplace sellers to the store. Again, I doubt it was EVGA that put stock up on amazon, it was probably someone trying to make money off of the card they picked up.

Only if they were trying to resell at MSRP. It was the FTW 3 ultra and the price was $809.99.

This launch window of the 3000 cards are just a big disaster! At least EVGA is doi g something. Other retailers should follow suit as this is not a hard thing to do a queue.

It’s funny when a company starts scalping their own products 😂😂😂

Yeah I wasn’t being sarcastic when I said I’m grateful that EVGA is implementing policies to get the cards into the hands of people who use them. I didn’t articulate this well, but I was contrasting what was happening on amazon with the EVGA store.

I doubt Amazon gives a [redacted] about who buys 3080s. These items are barely a blip on their ledgers.

I'm sure Amazon couldn't give a squirt who buys their products of if bots are used. The color of money is green and that's the bottom line and the reason any company is in business.

The only 3080's I have veer seen on Amazon.us have been the occasional scalper trying to sell off his wares, other than that it's just "unavailable". Also notice if you search for 3080 within Amazon you'll get 2xxx cards. I can only bring them up if I Google 3080 Amazon

AMZ seems to have some 5700's on prime day, which is fine with me... hopefully it'll dilute some of the demand for other GPU's... (I doubt it).... :-)
