If he's right as he has been pretty much for months now, the email queue and step up queue should start to go wayyyyy faster.

Hey, I've seen this episode before twice already! It's pretty good - turns out the big twist is that nothing happens and then all the authorities who originally put out the information slowly turn their backs, put fingers in their ears, and gleefully sing la la la as people ask them happened to el BiG StOnKs. Not a very funny episode, this one. 
 
This would also directly contradict what Nvidia's own CEO said, so, you know, someone's getting a stern finger waggled at them one way or another, no freebies this time, yeesh. What a freaking mess.

There's literally no reason to think this will be the case. In fact, the opposite is probably true given NVIDIA switching manufacturer in the midst of things.

Like all fiction writers, he needs to create a plausible "alternate reality" to sell your his fiction.  Interesting thing though, this is not plausible.  nvidia makes money from AIB's through wholesale transactions and licensing.  They benefit by high volume not shortages.    
 
I suspect nvidia did "rush" to market.  That the original plans for high volume were scheduled later and all the infrastructure was tuned for this later date.  However, nvidia did put pressure on folks to "just get what you can out for the launch" and we are feeling the effects of this advancement.  BUT, we are now moving into the period when the planned and fine tuned infrastructure is in full stride meaning the biggest latency is in the "boat ride" across our respective oceans.
 
No conspiracy, just some significantly modified planning with all the normal SNAFU's that result from forcing an advance of a complex plan.

I used to follow MLID. I don't because of the many reasons listed above. He has also revealed in his earlier videos that he is an AMD shareholder. I would steer clear from a youtuber that is literally invested in a company.

The whole leaker Youtube channel thing reminds me of the Psychic Friends Hotline from the 90's. Say what people want to hear and if it comes true great, if it doesn't spin or say something more bombastic.

Step 1: Marketing overstating performance (Digital Foundry followed by Paper launch, artificially limited availability, encourage bots and scalping, drive up hysteria and demand to a crescendo. 
 
Step 2: Flood the market with product in question right before your industry competitor releases a competing product.

Yeah but no. In Europe it wouldn't work that way. Prices are 30% more expensive (in France,think 1000€ to 1100€ instead of 720 to 850€ or in $ it would be around 1300$ instead of like 1000$) and if RDNA is just days away you can be sure a lot of people won't buy. Others will, but still nowhere near the amount of people that would have bought day one or week one if stock was following the demand. 
That means if RDNA is like 100€ cheaper than RTX 3080 and has a lot of stock (ha ha ! joke...) and prices don't go up, that's just Nvidia shooting themselves in the foot. And Nvidia should know that by looking at the 2000 Series release. Prices too high don't go well for sales especially if Nvidia doesn't touch the huge margin the retailers make. 
And except the major retailers in the US, it seems every country prices went up by a considerable amount. So Nvidia should know that will limit people's will to buy.
 
And yes. Some people still will buy from scalpers at double the price. But that's not the huge majority plus like I said, our official retailers are already charging a price in euros that's worth 1300$, very close to the price of the 3090 in the US.
