Went to Micro Center yesterday only to find a queue for the 3090 outside the store.  These folks looked bored as heck and were staring at each other's faces, a couple was playing cards, and a few others were just acting jittery.
Went inside the store to pick up other components; was told by the store manager that the 3090's were being drop-shipped and that they wouldn't be getting them first thing in the morning.  Manager told me those folks outside were getting too hopeful; they even requested them to go home because it was simply a waste of time.  But nope, the folks outside remained resilient and chose to take brunt of the storm.  The irony is that when they wake up tomorrow morning learning that no cards are available these brave souls are just going to pack up and make believe that nothing happened (scalpers perhaps?).  Not every Micro Center will have stock, and those that do will likely not receive stock until end of the day.  So much for the anticipation.  Manager laughed as he continued to mention his 1080 Ti being his sole driver.

I would walked by these folks and mumbled "No way would I pay $20,000 for a graphics card"
