I have started to play Crysis: Remastered for a while. The graphics are interesting better, at least in my opinion. My RTX 2070 FTW is struggling with the game so I'll need to loosen the settings. The remastered version changed a lot of the buttons from the old version. Looks like you're in strength mode by default. So far the game is still entertaining. Looks like the enemies need a few more bullets before they are killed. I'm going to play some more and add any addition comments here in this thread if I have any.

I had to lower the resolution one step to prevent lagging in the game. Looks like all of the new textures really stress a GPU.

I am betting it's just very UNoptimized texture coding this time around..... They got so much flak from the video release showing how bad it looked, they hurried up & dumped a crud ton of 8K textures on it and shoved it out the door .

I logged in for the first time in over a year just to post this comment. It sucks. It looks no different than the original, and performance is very sub par. The nano suit quick menu is changed to be like the console version of the game. By default you are on strength mode, not on armor mode like in the original game. You cannot get to weapon customization via the nanosuit quick menu either (another change from the original) Also, the Ascension mission has been removed ENTIRELY. This is a remastered version of the original Xbox 360/PS3 version, ported to PC. I'm sorry, but it is definitely a joke compared to the original, which I have VERY fond memories of. I just refunded it.

T hose who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way. Affiliate Code: 3T15O1S07G

Sad to hear that it's not an improvement like I would have hoped for. I still might pick it up later when it's on a Steam sale.

I'm not touching this one. From what I've read, this game is a hot and steaming turd. I really didn't expect much from Crytek.

I was excited for it until I saw how poorly it’s optimized. More for nostalgia it seems.

If I haven't played the original, would you recommend going straight for the remaster or is the original a better experience?

This game feels more like an expensive texture pack than a true remaster. Were the devs too caught up with the "can it run crysis" meme to bother optimizing?

The game sucks. Performance is TERRIBLE using a 9900k with 2080ti ftw3. Thats with raytracing off. The worst part is that it doesnt even look that good. I remember years back playing @1440p with heavily tweaked ini files and it looked just as good if not better. Looks worse than crysis 2 moded and significantly worse than crysis 3 vanilla. I read it has more to do with the cpu and poor use of the cores/threads. Doesnt matter if you sli 3090s with freakin LN2 your performance will be terrible because of the game engine
