Hey guys, I'm sad to say that I'm a little bit disappointed with EVGA's RMA. I had to call up EVGA tech support within a week of me even ordering the graphics card and the technician said to go ahead with an RMA. The only reason I paid extra for my 2070 super was because I wanted to go with EVGA  because of all the high-praise that I've heard regarding the EVGA customer support. Now I just got my RMA replacement and it is definitely refurbished. It came in the generic black EVGA box (was peeling from a few spots) and the stickers and such were peeling. It says in their warranty policy, alongside numerous online forums, that if you have to RMA in the first 30-days of purchase you should get a brand new unit and not a refurbished one. I just think it sucks that I paid so much money to get a defective product and now I have to get a refurbished one for something that was not my fault :( . I'm not new to the PC world (I'm no genius but I know my way around), I have helped numerous friends build and upgrade their computers, but this was my first time having saving up enough money to build my own (waited to build one that could be somewhat future proof). Once again, that's why I went with EVGA, it's my first time building my own rig and I didn't want anything to go wrong. Is there anything that I can do? Any sort of compensation? Just overall kinda bummed about the situation, and definitely not what I expected from EVGA :( . Thanks for any input.

For Reference: EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER FTW3 GAMING, 08G-P4-32

If the refurbished has been verified and tested, then your chances of getting a good unit is greater than getting a new/never used item. Perhaps a different way of seeing it.

It says in their warranty policy, alongside numerous online forums, that if you have to RMA in the first 30-days of purchase you should get a brand new unit and not a refurbished one.

In the warranty terms, it says "subject to availability" in that same sentence. Don't stop reading the sentence.

    evga warranty
If an RMA is necessary within 30 days of the original purchase date of a new in box Product, a new in box OEM replacement will be sent to the Original Purchaser in return, subject to availability.

In this forum, any time I see someone bringing this topic up, I purposely add "subject to availability" as a reply because it seems that far too many people leave that part out when discussing this topic. I don't want to perpetuate the misinformation which you have read in online forums.

EVGA typically replaces a warranty-claim card with a card in new condition if the card is fails within 30 days of purchase, but it is totally dependent on stock status, and thus "subject to availability". You are not the first. When the stock is low, EVGA prioritizes sending you out a card, even if it is refurbished, instead of making you wait weeks, or however long, until a new replacement comes into stock.

By the way, a generic box doesn't indicate that the card is refurbished. Because RMA replacements don't come with accessories, they don't come in retail boxes, whether new or refurbished.
