I would like to replace my PSU in my Dell XPS 8920. It currently has a 460W model D460AM-03. While I understand it's ATX compatible, I believe that doesn't guarantee all other ATX compatible PSU are of equal size. I noticed many PSU units don't list their dimensions. Is there an easy way to know a compatible PSU will fit before ordering?

Will the EVGA P/N: 100-W1-0500-KR likely fit in a Dell XPS 8920 desktop? And would it be an upgrade from the original, other than just the 460W to 500W difference?

    Hello Modify_inc

Welcome to our forums. All EVGA power supplies have their dimensions listed in their spec tab as you can see here https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=100-W1-0500-KR
    For your reference Size 85mm (H) x 150mm (W) x 140mm (L)
For the most part all ATX power supplies have the same height and width which is the ATX standard and you would generally need to consider the length making sure that your computer case has enough room.
