Hi, I'm getting between 40-70 fps in this game, what can I do to get higher FPS? Let me know if you need more specs/information. CPU:Intel Core i7 - 7700HQ 2.80GHz Graphic card:EVGA Geforce RTX 2070 FTW3 Ultra What I've tried - Updated Windows
- Updated Graphic card driver with Geforce Experience
- Optimized Nvidia Control Panel
- Optimized Warzone Graphics settings
- Ultimate Perfomance Battery Plan
- Reset this PC
- app > Scan and Repair
- Task Manager > Modern Warfare priority to Normal / High / Realtime
- All silly small things from closing other programs, clearing temp files, checking Windows settings to turning off Xbox and Geforce game bars
Sidenotes:- Sometimes the game starts loading Shaders over and over again. I've read this is an ongoing issue.
- In Rainbow Six Siege, I'm benchmarking around 140 fps with settings on Ultra (I know I can't really compare these two, but still, the difference is insane)

What resolution are you gaming at? And do you have ray tracing enabled? Do you have the game installed on an SSD or better drive?

I would say your CPU is holding you back. Especially if you are gaming at 1080p. Mobile CPU. Is this a laptop with an external thunderbolt graphics card box with the RTX 2070 FTW3 Ultra installed in it?

Yeah I was just looking at that CPU as well, not even taking into account that this is a Laptop that CPU has a base frequency of 2.8GHz and a turbo boost frequency of only 3.8GHz. Given the CPU utilization I see on my OC 9800x @ 4.4GHz with 8 Cores and 16 Threads, I would be very comfortable saying that the OP is being held back with the CPU.

- 1920x1080 - DirectX Raytracing in the game is on 'disabled' - The game is installed on an external Samsung X5 SSD

I thought so, thanks for confirming guys. Yes it is, it's a Macbook Pro connected to a Razer Core EGPU with a RTX 2070 installed in it.

Yes it's boosting up to 3.8GHz. I guess I should either buy a laptop with a better CPU or build a desktop. Thanks guys!

I would say given that this is all running on a laptop, using external GPU, and an external SSD performance is probably about on par. With as cheap as Ryzen is right now I would just build a desktop you already have the most expensive component the GPU.

The optimizing shaders thing can get annoying, it has to process for Campaign, Multiplayer, WARZONE and CO-OP separately so if you are on the landing page, it will continue to work through all 4 if they are not optimized yet. This only occurs after a large update or when you update your video card drivers. Make sure to check your graphics settings, this game performs best on Fullscreen mode. The problem is, if you alt+tab out of the game, it has the potential to flip the screen mode over to Fullscreen Borderless and you will lose a little bit of performance. Also, make sure your rendering resolution is set to 100. One thing I noticed about the optimized settings from the GeForce Experience software, is that it's not actually the optimized... A lot of the time it will kick my render to 120 which cuts into my average FPS way more than I would want to sacrifice for a little more eye candy that isn't worth it. One other thing to note is... this game isn't exactly new, but WARZONE is and this game has consistent updates from Nvidia on the drivers, so always keep an eye out for those because there is a new update like every 3-4 weeks, sometimes more. The problem your having right now might not be your hardware at all... might just need to wait for the next driver or attempt a roll-back to see if an older one works better than the one that is currently out.

Your framerate looks low for a PC, especially at 1080, but given that you are on eGPU, there is certainly a bottleneck there with the bandwidth operating at only 4X.
