Hi,
I signed up here because this particular issue has been driving me crazy and I really hope EVGA can acknowledge/fix it through a BIOS update or something.
This is a brand new build and only seems to happen when I'm playing a game or using a program that isn't overly stressful for the GPU.
The temperature of the GPU (RTX 2070 Super) eventually reaches the 60C mark when running a low-intensity game or program. This results in my GPU fans switching-on/spinning-up (I can hear a clinking sound when this happens).
Apparently this is normal behavior, that's fine.
A few seconds later though, the fans switch off because they've managed to swiftly reduce the temperature of the GPU to the high 50's. And so this results in a never-ending loop of clinking noises that quickly becomes highly annoying (especially in a quiet room) due to the GPU constantly powering up/powering down its fans. It's honestly unbearable to listen to after a while and surely isn't good for the GPU fans in the long-term.
I have scoured the forums and this appears to be a known issue (feature...!) with EVGA cards. I tried to link them here but it says my account, due to being new has restrictions in place to prevent link spam.
I really don't want to have to download MSI Afterburner / X1 Precision jus to control the fan curve. It looks like the only solution is to set it so that the fans are always on at idle. I think it's just ridiculous to me that something like this happens. I'm essentially being punished for having good cooling in my case!
A response/alternative advice would be appreciated, thanks.
