I got the 08G-P4-3070-KR EVGA 2070S blower because it was $510 along with EVGA compatible water block which was discounted to $100. I'll remove the blower and install the block. This means that I am planning water cooled 2070 super for $610 or so. I suspect blower card is discounted because they are noisy and not popular. Do they also have lower overclocking potential than say NVIDIA 2070 super reference or other EVGA 2070S?

EVGA ¨SSC stands for super-super clocked and is one below FTW. This means the card is factory overclocked by EVGA and has been tested for stability at the overclocked clocks. SC stands for super clocked. It is the lowest overclock EVGA offers but is still tested and guaranteed stable at the advertised speed."

Mine is gaming which means lower silicon rating?
Thanks

For benchmarking, the Super version would be an improvement but for gaming, you shouldn't worry too much as there wouldn't be a considerate difference.

Blower + WB is usually the way to go if you're looking to get it at the lowest cost possible for custom cooling.  The GPU might clock slightly higher because it's being water cooled but nothing's a guarantee once you go past the advertised speeds.

    Thank you for response GTXJackBauer.
The savings are just $60 or so vs 2070S hybrid GPU, but the EVGA HYDRO COPPER Waterblock looks much better & cools more critical GPU components.
    Long live PC bling!

The 2070S is nominally a cut down TU104 which is not binned beyond that, you get what you get.  IIRC there is a special FTW3 version with fast memory but you don't have that.  The major limitation you're facing is the bios has a fairly low max power limit vs. the FTW3 or nvidia founders reference or Galax or Palit bios, though it is the same as the 2070 a-chip bios.  Thus there would be a performance benefit flashing to higher power bios with the water block, but I would STRONGLY recommend against it due to the risk involved.

Presumably you have a cooling system to plug it in to.  Seem obvious, but mistakes have been made before.

since you are planning on removing the stock fans for a water block for the card. make sure that you use the correct amount of thermal compound as me and a few others were talking with someone who did the same thing you are planning on doing but the paste didn't spread correctly or not enough was applied and their card started running hot and was shutting down on them.

a good teacher will not give you the answer you seek, they will help you learn as to why you had that problem and will guide you to the solution that works for it so you can pass the knowledge on.
