Hi!

So i bought a used 1080 ti sc2 on ebay 26 days ago. Installed it, played on it some, and a few weeks later most of my games crash. Arma 3, codmw (fixed dev error 6068 turned off crossplay), csgo once.

I just got an RMA request approved but I could still cancel it if you wonderful people know anything that i might not have done.
So I noticed when i first got it 3d mark benchmarks worked. All benchmarking software worked, tried a little extra OC'ing to +30 but it didn't like that so I left it alone, just adjusted the fan curve. Then when I started crashing in games i looked up causes.
Clean install drivers
DDU
rollback drivers
Didn't work.
Went to 3dmark to stress test and it artifacted and hard locked
Super position was fine at 4k optimized
Furmark. Nope.
Kept googling.
When it crashed I got a kernal 41 and 141 error.
Elevated command prompt to see if hidden drivers from my 1070 were conflicting.
sfc /scannow
Cleanup image restore health.
Bought a new PSU 750 GQ and reinstalled with two VGA rails, still crashes and artifacting stress testing 3dmark sky diver.
Revo uninstaller to uninstall OC apps, all set to 0 offset before uninstalling, I like precision x1. Possibly applying an extra OC and didn't uninstall fully..
Nvidia debug worked like a charm, made it through the stress test.
Reinstalled windows, still crashed and artifacted.
Uninstall drivers for 1080 ti, reinstall 1070, got new drivers on a fresh install of windows 10, ran 3d mark stress and it's good. Furmark good. Everything good lol

Anything else I could do?

I'm in bios rn that says pcie speed is set to auto, should I change it to gen3?

Thank you

Edit: misspelling :)

Edit 2: had no thermal issues.

Hello and welcome to the forum. A fairly simple test is to use the Debug Mode in the Nvidia Control Panel. It's under Help  on the menu bar. This will cause the GPU to only boost to vanilla clocks verses the higher SC clocks until you uncheck it or reboot. You can also underclock the GPU manually.  If the GPU is more stable at the lower clocks that is more confirmation the GPU is unstable/defective.

Whoops, missed that first read through. Well that pretty much confirms the GPU is unstable at SC clocks. RMA time. You can contact EVGA and see if there is any warranty time left on the GPU based on the serial number of the GPU. Alternatively if you don't have any warranty options, it is possible to flash the GPU with a standard BIOS with the stock clocks. Or you can use Afterburner to set a negative clock offset at boot.
