I'm hoping this thread grabs the attention of EVGA to consider a Linux driver. Nu Audio is an excellent candidate for an HTPC and I'd love not to have to change out my card to a Claro or Creative one just to have it run. No idea how sales are doing or even the potential interest for a Linux driver. I'm sure there are others like me out there. Let your voice be heard and maybe just maybe EVGA will give us what we need. Just my 2 cents. EvoLunatic

I asked our team to look into it last week, before I went on vacation. I haven't heard back yet, but I don't expect it to be a short undertaking. I do know that the Dolby/DTS passthrough and Nahimic features would not work in Linux regardless, but the remaining audio features would potentially work if the project can be done. I do know that people have been able to get the audio card working in Linux, but it lacks most of the features in the software.

Hope you had a great vacation. Glad to hear you passed the message along. I tried it with LibreELEC but with no luck. It's interesting that you say it works with Linux. I'm going to try the Ubuntu Kodi install and see how that goes. Of course, there won't be passthrough if it works but it's a start. For an HTPC the basic function is only needed. Passthrough is the only requirement. Hence, only a driver is required to jump start the project. Appreciate looking into it LeeM. I know it will take a lot of man hours if the team takes on this project. Kindly keep poking at them until then.

Installed Ubuntu and tried to choose EVGA from the Alsamixer but it just gives an error. Doesn't show up in Kodi at all.
Was worth a try. If anyone has had any success please do share.

Could I add mine to these requests? I know that gamers are the prime audience for the Nu Audio, but the quality of the card is so good that many people will want to use it primarily for music and many of those use Linux based systems. A

I don't mind sending it to you, but you need to get your post count up to be able to respond to PMs. It's an anti-spam measure on the forums.

Evo couldn't quite get it working the way he wanted, last I saw. I have yet to hear back from the_bat. I'll send you the same information a bit later this morning, but as I've mentioned to others, try to get your post count up past 10 so that you can respond to PM's (forum anti-spam measure).

Why not put this information in public access?

Why not put this information in public access?
Because: - It's not officially supported. Even with disclaimers in bold, making this more available at this stage would probably generate more headaches for people looking for a complete solution.
- It's more helpful first to have people test that are willing to take some time to test. Generates better feedback, too.
- It may require firmware flashing, and it's better to limit that to prevent confusion, at first.
- Anytime firmware is involved, you want to make sure only the people who need it have it. It's not about keeping it secret; it's more about compatibility among different drivers and firmware that can cause the card to be unusable or unstable.

Bearing in mind that I have no experience with Linux, does the basic system volume work at all? Also, are you using the headphone-out or the speaker-out?

Hi Apologies for not getting back sooner - working for a living gets in the way sometimes. I haven't been able to get it to work either. I flashed the older version of firmware then tried it with Daphile, but also with Ubuntu and Ubuntu studio. Daphile seems to play music but nothing comes out and Ubuntu sees the card but can't seem to communicate with it. Alan

Thanks for the update. This is probably going to be a slow moving project, but I'll try to get our team to squeeze time in here and there to work on it.
