First, is the SATA power cable connected? Is the onboard HD Audio disabled in the UEFI? I'm assuming yes for both, but just gotta ask.
Download the latest driver - v0.2.1.14 - but don't install it yet.
In device manager, uninstall the Nu Audio, choosing to delete the driver.
In device manager, the drivers will be tucked away under these...
EVGA USB Audio Devices > EVGA Nu Audio
Sound, video, and game controllers > EVGA Nu Audio
Universal Serial Bus controllers > ASMedia USB Root Hub
Universal Serial Bus controllers > ASMedia USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller
If you see none, or some disappear while you're removing drivers, in device manager open the menu - View > Show hidden devices
Disconnect from the internet, and reboot the computer. Then run the installer.
Another thing to try would be moving the Nu Audio to a different PCIe port. If you pull the card, boot up Windows, then shut down before moving the Nu Audio to a new PCIe slot, you'll avoid making a mess in device manager ("Nu Audio #2" is annoying to look at). I have mine installed in the bottom slot on my board, to give my GPU some breathing room and for better cable management.
If you're not using the GPU for audio output, you could disable that too in the sound control panel. Start > Settings > search 'Sound' and click 'Sound settings' > on the right side click 'Sound Control Panel' - you can disable the GPU/monitor as a sound device there.
Best of luck!
