Hello.
Since most high performance tower air coolers from
Noctua aren't compatible with X299 Dark - i have to use something diffirent - and it is
Phanteks.
For my build i choosed Phanteks
PH-TC14PE in black color. Unfortuantly on page with cooler there was no any information about compatibility with specific motherboards, only support of sockets. Since this cooler very old - there is also no information about socket 2066 support. I even contacted with Phanteks and ask about compatibility with my motherboard - EVGA X299 Dark, but again - no information. In such situation it might be BIG no go, but i bought this cooler anyway.
First, socket 2011 and 2011-3 have got same mounting points as socket 2066. So, no problems with mounting at all.
And here is some pictures of clearance with RAM and also with motherboard VRM coolers:
My RAM:
Team Group Dark Pro "8Pack Edition" DDR4-3600 (45mm tall and 7.6mm wide). I installed modules in slots #1 and #4 for a reason.
Cooler standing on socket cover, so it may sit even lower with actual CPU installed.

Here is picture with left module installed and CPU heatsink:
Right fan installed:

As usual, it touching RAM, but it's possible to move it a bit higher.
Here is picture from motherboard VRM coolers:

Plenty of space.
So, is it possible to install Phanteks PH-TC14PE on EVGA X299 Dark? Yes. Hope it will help someone.
P.S. I don't want to install AiO in my system, i don't like RGB and i plan to install motherboard horizontally.
