Sad day, the first PCIE slot has begun malfunctioning, if any video card is in that slot it fails to work, slot 2 is still working. I've tried all possible combinations for the video cards (two 980TI's), but I can only get them to work in the 2nd PCIe slot ... No SLI now, this all seems to have started about two or three days ago was when I first noticed a problem, I had to power down the system to get it to come back, but now if anything is in the 1st slot windows complains that it's malfunctioning... So I'm not completely dead in the water, just loosing about 500k PPD for Folding at Home. Anyone have any suggestions to try, I'm beyond the warranty time, ordered 9/10/2015... Thanks in advance...

If you live in the USA then you can try to obtain a used Z97 motherboard. Newegg has this refurbished model available:

Otherwise maybe it's time for a new updated motherboard and processor (and memory) if funds are available.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA
