So a friend bought a computer from craigslist and found this gpu installed . I believe its Chinese fake. Not willing to risk my computer to prove point thanks for any help

    Any information at all, would be helpful. The more information, the more helpful.

    Brand name?
    Model number?
    Pictures?
    Screenshots of the card in GPU-Z?

    Its suppose to be a gtx 1050 2gb it has a VGA,hdmi, dvi connector. I have no doubt its generic it has an ugly gray plastic 2 fan cooler

    If it has a VGA port than most definitely a Chinese fake.

    Thank you that's what made me question it and why I wont install it in my computer. I gave him my gtx 960 so he's good but I'm trying to figure out what it is thanks for the link it's the second one pictured in the article.

    Tattude, just giving you a heads up that I have moved this over to the General Hardware forum since it is not an EVGA product in question.  Please do post the picture of the card in question as I think we are all very curious at this point.

    Took me one page looking at ebay for GTX 1050 to find same very fake card.
     
    I like how in the title it says 2G Memory than at the end 4GB? Ha-ha, reel in as many as they can.

    it wont even boot. i tried this morning fans spin but no output on any inputs. Just good learning lesson.   i was just shocked to find one in a computer bought off craiglist. they are easy to spot on Ebay in this case he bought a tower and never had the chance to open it up.Luckily the rest of the hardware was legit so it all worked out. Thanks to everyone for the assist. now its just a cool paperweight i can use as an example for friends and customers
