Display specialist AOC announces a brand-new gaming monitor, the 28" (71.1 cm) G2868PQU with Ultra HD / 4K (3840x2160 pixels) resolution.

To meet the demands of gamers looking for crisp and vivid imagery and sharp gameplay, the display boasts a next-gen HDR-ready TN panel with 1 ms response time. The G2868PQU also supports AMD FreeSync which eliminates stutter and screen-tear caused by mismatched image frames between the graphics card and the monitor. All these features ensure a fluid, smooth 4K gaming experience. The monitor becomes available in Europe in March 2019.

AOC's G2868PQU will be available from March 2019 at an MSRP of £319 / 299 USD /299 EUR.

Personally I think AOC dropped the ball on this as it would have been better to support a refresh rate far better than 60 hertz in my personal opinion.

I'd have to agree. It's 2019 and we know now that we no longer have to settle for 4k at 60hz. We also know we don't want to pay $2000 for the luxury of having the luxury of 4k at 144hz.

Most of us are settling for 1440p at 144/165hz and are happy with the performance/dollar we get from that investment. But, even at the low price-point $300, I wouldn't settle for that AOC monitor. The market is already oversaturated with monitors just like and, even though it has HDR, it's not setting itself apart with the feature people want: a refresh rate that's not only 60hz.

I like how it displays photos, motion pictures and whatever VGA's render. Neat.

Anybody else feel 27"/28" is a bit on the small side? Poor compromise for media playback and too few options at 32" with similar or better specs.

It’s ok I guess for a budget 4K monitor but I kind of would hope for better. They could have done slightly better then 60hz or made the screen larger.

I agree.  60Hz has been around for far too long.  They should have went at a min 120hz.

I consider the major downside of this display to be the fact it is a TN.  But for the price, these specs are to be expected.
