How much can an RTX 2080 be capped to?
I know my EVGA RTX 2060 can be capped from stock 190W (other brands peak at 170W), all the way down to 125Watts (which seems universal for all 2060s as the lowest cap).
What's the lowest setting for the 2080?
If someone cares to test in Linux,
The command is:
Sudo nvidia-smi -i 0 -pl 200
Where '0' is the card's address (could be 1 or 2, or more for mining rigs), and '200' is the power cap applied.
I presume this 225W card can be capped to about 175, but I'm not sure if someone is willing to test their lowest accepted output by the system?
I'm thinking of swapping out the 1660 with a 2080, but don't want to upgrade anything else on my PC, until I can upgrade the power supply.
I have currently 215 watts of reserve, but capping the card at 180-190W could give me 35-45W headroom.
I've tested the power supply under 95% load, and it runs it reliably, but the PSU fan is going really hard.
