    10-layer is really tough!
After installed i7 8700, it has only a little bit bent on I/O side.
My previous Z370 ITX MB bent too much.

    @EVGATech_LeeM
    Thanks for watching my post.
I'll consider to post it there after my question resolved. (Just sent a mail to customer service)

Unfortunately the default BIOS doesn't have the SGX option which is added to Z370 Classified K's BIOS v1.07 - That means in order to playback 4K BDs I need to wait for the BIOS upgrade from EVGA.

    (Edit)
Not only a BIOS SGX option, but also an Intel Software Guard eXtension Platform software is required.
Both H370 Stinger and Z370 Classified K haven't had it on the EVGA driver download page.
If Intel Software Guard eXtension Platform from other sites will work then it's OK. But I can't confirm it.

BTW this MB does not support
    (1) 3-pin FLX fans' speed control
    (2) Power-off USB charge

    Just performed a stress test:

Noctua NH-C14 Dual Fan, Full Speed 1200 rpm x2
    Prime95 29.4 Small FFTs

    8700 @ EVGA H370 Stinger
    CPU 86-93
VRM 70? (I can only see it in BIOS)
    AVX offset -2
    Power consumption (CoreTemp/AIDA64) 140W
    Total power consumption (WattMeter) 228W
    VCore 1.217V

    8700 @ Z370 ITX MB
    CPU 75-81
    VRM 100
    AVX offset 0
    Power consumption (CoreTemp/AIDA64) 115W
    Total power consumption (WattMeter) 192W
    VCore 1.221V

I don't know why 8700 @ H370 Stinger consumes more power & gets CPU hotter.
    Only VRM wins this battle.

Just compared Intel SGX Platform 1.9.100.41172 from multiple download sources.
All of them has the same CRC32: 52DCA6A0
So they're just quite the same file.
That means we can just download other sites' Intel SGX Platform 1.9.100.41172 for enabling UHD BD playback, no matter whether EVGA download center has it or not.

So if EVGA release a new BIOS with SGX option for H370 Stinger, the UHD BD playback can be instantly enabled.

Finally got 4K UHD BD playback worked!
Many thanks to EVGA support team for the test BIOS!

However it's more complicated & has more problems than my previous MB.

    You need:
    1) The test BIOS (may be formally released in the future)
    2) Intel SGX Platform 1.9.100.41172
    3) The updated ME + Graphic + Chipset INF drivers
(EVGA default ME: Unable to enable SGX)
(EVGA default Graphic: Unable to enable HDCP 2.2 & PowerDVD's iGPU identification)
(EVGA default Chipset INF: Don't know but for ensuring it workable I upgraded it)

BTW I haven't installed Serial IO.

    BIOS setup:
    1) Turn SGX on.
    2) Keep PRMRR size 128MB.

    Problems:
    1) Intel SGX Platform can be installed only once. If uninstalling & reinstalling it, the installation will be rejected by an "AESM already installed" error. To solve this problem, you can only FORMAT C: then install a brand new Windows 10.
    2) The latest Graphic driver makes HDMI Audio devices only S/PDIF get working. In order to have HDMI Audio you must install an older worked driver.

    can you expand on the
    "Power-off USB charge"

Are we talking about the amount of current via USB to external devices like phones ?

I have see on some Motherboards the USB -3 having the same 1/2 amp  ( 0.500 ma) as  USB-2

The power is cut off on every USB ports on I/O side.

If it had any amps it should be able to recharge my Nintendo 3DS.

I cannot remember whether X99 Micro2 can do the power-off charging or not. X99 Micro2 doesn't support SMART on 3-pin fans either.

Thanks again for testing the BIOS I sent you.  We're looking into an official BIOS to support this feature, along with checking which drivers are necessary to make this a much smoother process than you went through.  Great feedback and, again, thanks for the assistance.

If someone with an H370 Stinger wants to try a Beta BIOS for SGX, please send me a message.

We uploaded a new official BIOS (v1.02) for the H370 Stinger for improved SGX compatibility, along with a few other items.

Added a new Intel ME version and added the Intel SGX driver to the download page.

Please note that for the SGX driver, you need to first enable SGX in the BIOS prior to installing the SGX software, and make sure to install all features from the Intel ME driver or SGX may not work properly.

Thanks EVGA support team for improving the SGX related drivers!

For the USB power cut off issue, I remembered that I enabled ERP in BIOS.
I'll try to disable it later for testing this.

Re: EVGA H370 Stinger arrived 2018/07/19 04:15:15 (permalink)
From my experience USB power cut off is done only when ERP is enabled in BIOS.
ERP is enabled: USB power is switched off after hibernate or shutdown. In S3 it is still active.
ERP is disabled: USB power is never switched off.

For my set up (using the H370 Stinger in a PC located in bedroom...) I need the USB power to be cut. Otherwise all devices like USB sound card etc. are still on power and emitting light which I do not want. When the PC is switched off I expect every connected peripheral to be switched off (unless there is a specific setting in the BIOS that enables USB power when PC is switched off).

Problem is, that even when ERP is active, sometimes the USB port still provides power after shutdown or hibernate. Then I have to restart the PC and do shutdown again to have all devices switched off. Not sure if it is issue of MB only or if power supply is involved somehow. Is anybody else having inconsistent USB power cut off with this board?

System: EVGA H370 Stinger MB, Intel Core i7 8700 CPU, Noctua NH-L9i Cooler,  Crucial Ballistix Sport LT DDR4-2666 DIMM CL16, Samsung 960 Evo M.2, Corsair SF450 PowerSupply, Lian Li PC-Q21B Case
