This question probably asked in a different way, but want to 100% make sure,

I got a EVGA 1080ti a month ago and returned it right after 2080ti was announced as i have missed 14 day deadline to register with EVGA.
I did pre-order an 2080ti XC ultra and (i can cancel it anytime), but it seems like ICX2 version will be released later.

If i'm buying an 1080ti today (from egg), will i be eligible for step up within 90 days to 2080ti?  Is there any 'stock' risk, within 90 days and  i will be able to step up atleast to a XC ultra in case my desired card is not available?   Do i have to buy extended warranty or its optional?

That's the risk you take since we don't know how long it will be for the ICX2 to show itself.  It could be within the 90 days one would assume but you never know.  You might also not see a ICX2 in the setup up listing because of demand.  Usually they have the basic models up for grabs at first and maybe they might throw in the others later on but can't tell.

Use this Associate Code at your checkouts or follow these instructions for Up to 10% OFF on all your EVGA purchases:

Hello mmuthiah! Currently, we do not have any 20-series graphics cards available for Step-Up but we estimate they may be added after they are released on or about September 20th. If you were to purchase a graphics card today, you would still be within the 90 day window for Step-Up on 9/20. Please keep in mind that generally only reference models of cards are added to Step-Up and higher-end cards are usually not added to the Step-Up inventory. As long as you register the 1080Ti within 14 days of your purchase date then you do not need to purchase an extended warranty for Step-Up.
