The new ‘Opto-Mechanical’ switches found under the caps use an infrared beam to precisely detect actuation when a key is pressed. The switch has a 1.5mm actuation point, so with these two things combined, these switches should register key presses 30 percent faster than a traditional clicky mechanical switch. In theory this sounds great but I am also curious about the noise output when the key is pressed.

1.5mm. I would be in full panic from pressing the wrong buttons all the time. I am no typing professional, that is for sure.

Well the laser key tech isn't new, but that RGB on RGB is!

How is "30% faster" calculated?  Static speed of the pressing mechanism, e.g. someone's finger (i'm sure they'd use something mechanical ?  30% faster after actuation that involves the circuitry on the board?  The total distance of the key press to actuation vs standard total distance?

i have the blackwidow chroma v2 with yellow switches.  I think they are 1.2mm.   Trust me i get way off track in games by accident becuase you barely have to press the keys.  Its been hard to get used to.
