WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, with 165 Hz refresh-rate, 1 ms (GTG) response time, and support for NVIDIA G-Sync. nputs include DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4. However it looks like a TN panel and if so then that is a bit disappointing.

I just bought an Acer Predator 165Hz IPS G-SYNC 1440p monitor and love it. Been wanting to get both a 144+Hz and G-SYNC monitor for a while now. Only problem is that made me step up my 2080 to a 2080 Ti now lol.

I'm not sure what all the hate on the TN panels is about. I'm actually pleased with mine once it had been tuned to have better colors.
I get it, IPS is simply better; but when they come across at a 50% lower price for the same spec (I got mine second hand, not new), other than the IPS accuracy, it is hard to pass up. :D

For me it's also the poor quality control on monitors the last couple of years (or more) - be it TN or IPS ..paying $700 for a monitor that has severe back light bleed, faded colors, dead pixels, and having to RMA multiple times and still not get a good one is unacceptable. Not just ASUS either. Major lack of quality panel manufacturers = limited competition = diminished focus on quality control.

Im not sure what you all are talking about, my Dell U3011 from 8 years ago is 2560 x 1600 native 10-bit with 12-bit internal processing at 60Hz and has great factory out of the box calibration. If Dell were to release an ultrawide version with a higher refresh rate and either HDMI 2.1 or G-sync; I would have bought it already, but here I am waiting.....probably until I spend an insane amount of money on microLED in 3 to 5 years. I bet TN displays will still be launching 5 years from now because people want to sacrifice a lot to save a few hundred bucks, not realizing what they are missing out on.

IPS that has severe back light bleed
I knew going in that this was going to have light bleed. There is no way of getting around it with the LCD monitors we have on market right now (but I do agree that they could use higher quality to get less light bleed). This is one of the main reasons I went with an OLED this year for my TV. But this is strictly a gaming monitor for me, wanted high refresh rate and G-SYNC (the real G-SYNC, not just compatible). When I want to view something with amazing picture quality, I just go to my OLED. Nereus
dead pixels
This is the only thing I am truly worried about when buying a new monitor (or TV). If I ever see just one dead/stuck pixel, that's all I ever see from the monitor again. Hoggle
I kind of wonder if 144hz vs the 165hz would be that noticeable.
I doubt its THAT noticeable to be honest. I would have been perfectly fine with 144hz, but this monitor can do 165hz, so why not right?

The PG278Q series have the best TN panels on the market and they are superior to professional IPS panels in colour accuracy and gamma out of the box. Look at TFT Central's charts - it's hilarious that the original PG278Q is still the most accurate monitor out of the box they've ever tested. https://www.tftcentral.co..._pg278q.htm#comparison I've owned the PG278Q, PG278QR, PG27VQ, PG258Q, S2417DG, and Predator X27. The PG278QR is second only to the Predator X27 - the rest required calibration. The PG278QR had flickering lines while scrolling at 165 Hz while 144 Hz was fine. The PG27VQ was fine at 165 Hz. The PG258Q had flickering lines in some content even while not scrolling at 240 Hz.
