k|ngp|n Here is the very first official XOC release for the Z390 DARK! This bios also includes full WINDOWS XP support when using the supplied Asmedia SATA and USB drivers.
EVGA Z390 DARK XOC OFFICIAL RELEASE V.92
Asmedia Sata and USB drivers for XP
Installation guide for XP
INTEL LAN Driver
Nice video for XP installation by Juhanni Luumi:
Thanks for sharing my video, I tried to make the guide as simple as possible and it also works for Server 2003 as Server 2K3 is pretty much the same as XP.

I apologize if I am asking an inappropriate question, but I have the Z390 DARK's older brother, the X299 DARK. I could never find the drivers for it that supported Windows XP even though it officially claimed to support it unlike the Z390 DARK's product page. How can I get my hands on them? If anyone knows the answer to this, it must be k|ngp|n because these boards exist in no small part for him. I just want to be able to put WinXP on there for fun. If anyone knows the answer, please help. Thanks.

Oha, I just noticed, that the timer in the original XP Bios from EVGA for the z390 dark motherboard not works. And also compi stays always in C0 state, brrr. And the most crazy thing: This happens also in Win10, power consumption on 9900k always about 27 Watt.. Now I chance all against my modified acpi.sys hal.dll intelppm.sys and all is nice: Full ACPI support with Hyperthreading, Timer works, powerconsumption on 9900k about 2 Watt:)). This simple means, we, Mov AX, 0xDEAD and me Dietmar are better Dietmar PS: XP SP3 on 9900k at 5.100 GHZ EDIT: Splitter (mouse and keyboard) in the ps/2 port do not work. Only one of them can be used. EDIT2: With cooler dark rock pro 3 be quiet I get 5200MHZ on XP. But with prime95 temperatures on 3 cores reach after 20 min 100 degree at 220 Watt. So, I go back to 5100 MHZ and have now 78 degree max on all cores at 150 Watt during Prime95. The problem with power consumption in Win10 is gone. Compi throttels down to 600 MHZ at 0.2 Watt.

diderius6If you want to provide step-step method how to update/mod files, I'll be happy to add it into guide for other XP enthusiasts. I'm doing long overdue overhaul for Z390 article now. MelonGxDidn't try that, sorry.

The usbd.sys vers. 6.2.9200.16384 does not work. For XP you have to use usbd.sys from XP SP1 vers. 5.1.2600.0 Dietmar

Hi, this morning I make the ultimative ACPI test for the EVGA dark z390 board. First, I make with REVELPROG IS Epromer an update of its whole Bios chip 25Q127CSIG. 3 times I read XP friendly Bios vers. 092 out and compare. Ok, all copies are identic. Then I flash the brandnew BIOS 107 (September 2019), which is not XP friendly to this z390 board. Ok, first XP install gives A5 error and in a strange way also 7B. After testing and testing I succeed to install full ACPI XP on this board. I do not mod anything in Bios 107. Everything works: Lan, graphik, all USB.. under XP. The DSDT table of this Bios 107 is similar to the Bios of the Gene XI board or the Apex XI board or the z390 boards from Gigabyte. I have to add the registry entries for the STORAHCI driver by hand (see *.reg here in folder) Dietmar www.win-raid.com/t4035f45-Windows-XP-Bit-and-Server-Bit-on-Modern-Hardware-210.html#msg94592

Z390 Dark and X299 Dark are serious improvement compare to previous EVGA motherboards. I like how they cut PCB and help with cable management to reach same holes as ATX motherboard in PC case. Looks like and PCB is thicker then on competitors boards. I always thought that some expensive motherboards should be thicker. Gold lines and marked screw holes improve look as well. Special if owner use some nice black allen key screws... At the moment I use Lian Li black motherboard screws, you install them with fingers.

did you integrate the drivers into the installation or did you install xp first and then make registry entries?
