GTX 1060 FTW2 ICX vs GTX 980FTW??

Is the GTX 1060 FTW2 ICX close to GTX 980FTW in performance? I know the in the reference reference cards the 1060 is a little weaker for Destiny 2 than the 980 is according to http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/destiny_2_pc_graphics_performance_benchmark_review,5.html
 
I play in 4k on low preset for regular PvE content and get 45-60FPS(which I'm happy with) and then 1440p medium preset and get a steady 60FPS with my 980FTW. Will the GTX 1060 FTW2 ICX be close? Most expensive thing the wife would let me get right now, then close to my 90 day window I'll step up once she has gotten over this expense.

    Both of them have similar performance, but the 980 goes a little bit better in 4k (maybe due memory bandwidth?).
    If I were to upgrade, I would try to hold a little more and get a 1070 to justify better performance (you would end up saving on the power draw with the 1060, but would perform mostly the same in most games).

    I know how the reference cards compare to each other, I'm curious about the difference between the the 2 different ftw cards.

    As far as waiting and getting a 1070, tje card i ordered is actually more than the wife wanted me to spend, but i talked her into it.
