This was obviously going to be approved by the shareholders to help Toshiba dig itself out of debt caused by its Westinghouse nuclear plant bankruptcy.

I find this oddly ironic seeing as how they themselves bought out OCZ in order to save that company and now Toshiba is looking to be saved.

They made a bad business decision regarding the Westinghouse nuclear plants. Hopefully they have learned from that experience.

    Nuclear power story:
Over here on Long Island (NY) the power company as in yes there is only one power company for the entire island built a plant in Shoreham/ Wading River and only until after they were done building it they decided Long Island was to crowded for a nuclear plant.
They never turned it on and now any town in the township of Brookhaven has a awesome property tax averaging 8-10+ thousand a year for the rest of time to offset the bill for thing. Ohh and it still there, just doesn’t do much.

But maybe Toshiba should have just passed the difference onto tax payers like they do here in New York.
