Hello,

I am having a difficult time with these instructions. While I can generally figure it out I am starting to get the impression I either was provided the wrong screws or something is just not right.
I just received this hybrid kit which states it is compatible with my card.  https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=400-HY-5598-B1
My card: https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-6390-KR
And currently am on step 7 of the instructions attaching the fan/heatsink and the screws provided do not tighten the heat sink to the thermal pads, it just flops around. It is a standoff screw. Any ideas? I tried looking at the videos but they all talk about how poor the instructions are and then poof it's done :)

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tom, I have not installed one of these myself. I am following the instructions, for the founders edition 6390, should be footnote A. https://www.evga.com/support/manuals/files/400-HY-5598-B1.pdf  On page 7, instruction 7[a], it shows the #13 screws/standoffs. They should be the loctite coated standoffs, 4 of them, 3 being used for heatsink. It is possible you may have mixed up the #14 screws that appear longer. [Both #13 & #14 have blue threadlocker on them].

I'm sorry, from your pic I can't tell whats going on other than too long screw. You should be using the 2nd set of screw holes after the end. 3 across. Hope that helps a little.

Their are three different ones and if you use the wrong ones you well see this issue.
List the Part Number of the Number #x that you are using.

For step 7 with a Founders Edition you will want to flip over the card. While holding the heatsink in place with one hand you need to tighten the three screws shown below:

Also Make SURE the Screw Mounts are Seated in the PCB before you screw in the screws (standoffs).

Uploaded a video that demonstrates the issue I am seeing that when using the shoulder screws that are standoffs that were in the bag marked item 13 (pn #####25094)

    https://youtu.be/nKgbrI8q3jU

Now at the right end of the heatsink there is a stickon standoff, perhaps the standoff is not tall enough to act as a counter so that when you tighten the 3 screws it forces the left side to snug up against the power mosfets.

the 3 screws are as measured:
    1.95mm dia at threads
    6.41mm long
    shoulder diameter is 2.93mm
    shoulder height is roughly 0.96mm
attached is the back side of the mosfet heatsink and the rubber like standoff:
