Compatibility issues with MSI z270 motherboards?

Hi, I have recently purchased an EVGA supernova nex650g psu but the system doesn't turn on at all.

However, when I plug in my old 600w psu, it turns on. Is there a compatibility issue between EVGA psus and MSI z270 motherboards?

I have a MSI z270 Gaming Pro motherboard.

    Nevermind, i might have solved the problem: the 24 pin atx connector wasn't properly clipped in
